Tesla Cybertruck FSD 13.2.2: Flaw Exposed! Driver Attention System Fail
🚗Welcome back to the channel! Today, I am diving into a critical review of Tesla's newest Cybertruck Full Self-Driving (FSD) version 13.2.2, showcasing my personal journey and the major flaw that has handicapped my experience-with over 2,500 miles under FSD 13.2.2.🏁
The greatest promise of Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) system is to allow drivers to continue their journey smoothly while safely diverting their attention to essential vehicle operations like checking alert messages, monitoring speed and energy consumption, adjusting routes, and even peaceful road snacks. However, a significant design oversight is holding back its full potential. 🕵️♂️
🔍Through my 3,500-mile cross-country adventure in the Cybertruck, I discovered that the location of the driver information display on the lower right of the vehicle clashes with Tesla's visual driver attention monitoring system. This system wrongly interprets necessary monitoring actions as distractions, leading to undeserved penalties.📉
Imagine getting struck out from FSD privileges while safely pulling into a supercharger-well, that's what happened to me! My fifth strike occurred just as I was searching for a charging spot at a dead stop. It emphasizes the urgent need for an update to truly make self-driving indispensable.⚡️
In this video, I’ll outline a few possible solutions Tesla could implement to rectify this flaw:
1. Relocate or add driver-side displays to prevent the need to look away.
2. Extend the allowed glance time at the driver information display.
3. Introduce contextual awareness to the driver attention systems for better flexibility.
4. Widen the required field of view for attention monitoring software.
Join me as I break down these issues and shed light on the improvements Tesla needs to drive its FSD to a truly visionary level!🚀

Stop driving and start walking.
So did you just let it cool down then put it in the fridge till you were ready to seal it
In this video, I am saving the brisket for individual meals later in the week. I let the brisket rest and cool until it is cold enough to let me handle and slice it up. I take a few slices, enough for a meal or two, place it in the vacuum bags and seal it up. When cooking brisket ahead of an event, I will let the brisket cool but rather than slicing, I cut it in to blocks that I vacuum bag and freeze. I save the beef drippings in a container and freeze it as well. Then when I am ready to serve the brisket, I thaw both out. Then slice the brisket while cold. Place the brisket and thawed drippings in an oven pan. Cover with aluminum foil and heat at 175F in the oven for an hour. When you pull it out it will be a good as when you take it off the smoker.
that's why Elon calls it SFSD. Supervised full self driving. More strikes and they'll ban you a week and than more.
Got one and it wouldn’t work on CCS1 or J1772. Truck showed “charging equipment not recognized “. Tried several locations around town and had the same result. Was really hoping this would be as good as your video.
I am sorry to hear that it did not work for you. I have been testing mine at different locations around town and only had occasional problem getting the CCS1 handle to fit into the adapter. As temperatures vary, you may find that the expansion and contraction of the plastic could make seating the connector difficult. On one day the connector didn't want to fit but did on the next day. Another thing I learned was to attach the adapter to the charger handle first. Then insert it into the Tesla.
Have you been inserting the adapter into the truck first, then plugging in from the CCS charger, or connecting the charger cable to the adapter first? Then plugging into the truck?
Here's a solution: physical controls for climate control, audio, turn signals, etc, so you don't need to look away from the road. Another solution: ignoring "alerts" that are not critical to the operation of the vehicle, so maybe just having little lighted icons in the dashboard in front of the driver that come on when a mechanical failure is detected. Both of these incredible technological advances were standard features on the first car I owned: a 1978 Chevy Impala that my parents bought for me as a Christmas gift for 200 dollars in 1994. The downside was that the car would not drive itself, but since I would never trust a Tesla or any other brand of vehicle to drive itself safely, I don't actually see that as a downside. So, from my point of view, the driving experience in the Cybertruck is not any better than a rust bucket that would be nearly 50 years old now.
What you have to understand is that 'Full Self Driving' doesn't actually mean full self driving. In the same way that "we are sending a man to Mars in four years" doesn't actually mean we are sending a man to Mars in four years. And "I have finance secured to take Tesla private at $420" doesn't actually mean.....well, I think you get my point. It is known as 'Musk-speak' and I got the hang of it a few years ago. Many are still struggling though.
Ironic "Full Self Driving" needs your "Full attention" Elon making people "Full dumbass".
By your own description it sounds like all the strikes were legit. You had FSD active, and you were not being attentive. You admit you were looking at your phone, managing the route, or looking at super chargers. It's for everyone's safety that you monitor the vehicle while FSD is active. Just because the vehicle is currently stopped doesn't mean it will not move suddenly. Tesla is still level 2.
connect your bluetooth grandpa
rearview mirrors are not for changing lanes non driver
It may be that the Cyber Truck system is different; but, I can admit that every time my Model Y has "accused" me of not paying close enough attention, ... it was correct ... I was not paying close enough attention. How many times have I started to go off the side of the road only to encounter a "Rumble Strip". Am I a bad driver? Of course I don't think so. I have never had a ticket and I am the guy that is going the speed limit that everyone else is cussing at as they pass me; however, I am honest enough with myself to admit that there are times that I should pay more attention. I tend to be of the opinion that the frustrations of getting Strikes by FSD is actually making me a better driver.
This video is misleading. You do not get suspended for one or two strikes, and you have to ignore the warnings and not restore your attention before you even get one. It seems you are not being cognizant of how long your attention is actually straying from the road. You do not need to be illegally using your cellphone at all because you can sync it and get calls and text message through the vehicle systems and control them from the scroll wheels or voice commands. Of course, when you reach your destination you should turn off FSD before you engage in other activities and at least continue to pay attention to its warnings until you do.
Phone use is always going to result in this visual monitoring to default back to torque based wheel monitoring, such as when you illegally used your phone to record passing an emergency vehicle while on FSD and the alert was ignored nearly to the point you received a strike. It sounds very much like you are taking your eyes off the road for 5+ seconds at a time which is extremely unsafe, especially in highway conditions where you are traveling 1.3 to 2.5 football fields worth of road in that time. I was taught the Smith System of defensive driving as a teen which included ingraining into me the fact that my eyes should constantly be shifting from 10 seconds ahead of me down the road, checking each mirror, checking my speed, and repeating constantly while driving. Keeping things moving and not staying fixated anywhere for more than a few seconds. Do this with FSD and keep your phone on the charger where it belongs and you will have much more luck with responsible and safe FSD use.
A “heads-up” display would be a great solution.
Thanks
Is it possible to do a biscuit test to show the hot spots? I can only find biscuit tests on the 1975.
Maybe this Spring. Just from cooking on the pit, i have observed temperature gradients across the pit being hotter near the firebox and oddly enough at grate level next to the smoke collector. I believe this is due to the hot gasses flowing down to escape up the chimney. The top grate is 10 to 20F hotter than the main cooking grate. the sweet spot is on the main cooking grate favoring the exhaust end of the pit. A larger pit would allow you to spread that heat out over a larger area. However, the size of this pit is easy and flexible to use. I just use the areas as needed and rotate the meat to even out the cooks.
That’s for the video
Thanks.
More cyber junk . You must be well paid to let an already failed system drive you out on the open road . How many innocent lives are you willing to risk for money.👎
Muchos gracias. Well appreciated.
Thanks I have another video coming out over the weekend with clips of stupid things FSD does.
@@maxqbbq FSD 13 is not the same exprience as it is on the other models. Give it some time.
Love your channel!
Glad you like it! Thanks for watching!
That freaks me out! You are very brave.
That is why it is called Supervised FSD. It's like driving with a teenager learning to drive. :-)
Looks great! Where did you come up with your seasoning ratios? Following a recipe or trial and error? I only have a small criticism. You ground and mixed your meat/seasonings/cure and immediately fried a test patty. All of the sites I have read and watched say you should wait 12-24 hrs before smoking or eating anything with cure added. Having said that, one small patty probably isn’t enough to cause any problems but who really knows. Well one more criticism…….no samples for us?
You are correct about waiting for the curing salts to convert to Nitrous Oxide gas. 600 parts per million are considered toxic. I use less than 150 ppm for bacterial inhibition. Longer would be a better choice. However, I need to test the batch before stuffing.
Craig, jestem pod wielkim wrażeniem !!!
Thanks!! Please send any coaching advice
Love this. Keep going 😀
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
The issue stuffing all those wire is your cabin camera is going to OVERHEAT then your FSD will stop working. I know from experience.
Are you serious?. What was the outcome? Did you get it work again? Did you remove mirror cam
@eclipseforever I ran power from odc port with adapter
That is a good point. My streaming service stopped working followed by navigation. At first I thought it might be impacting the GPS antenna but then I realized that it was map data not coming through which is the cellular communications. This leads me to believe that he problem is RF interference interrupting cellular data services. I am looking into solutions with the Hansshow engineers that involves changing the routing of the wires. I have several approaches to try. 1. Move the wire path to the upper side closer to the windshield. 2. fold the wire back and forth instead of making a coil out around the antenna out of it. The goal is to reduce the rf impact on the antenna contained within the housing. Let me know any other items that you have noticed.
Thanks for the excellent video. I am about to put mine in tomorrow. Question: did you find a source for a 3D cover? I’d be glad to buy one from someone but I can’t find them anywhere. Also, have you re-routed your cables and if so did that work?
Thanks for using our Mango Habanero Rib Candy! Really appreciate it! Hope your students enjoyed it.
Glad to share a great product!
Cant wait to see the final product and hear your review of the item. I believe this one comes with a custom bracket where the other ones out there do not
Bright display and very clear cameras. Installation is challenging for a first timer. After installing and uninstalling it a couple of times, it gets easier.
The sight itself made me salivate 🤤🤤🤤
You need to attend one of the boot camps to get the full experience.
The thing I most love about the Cybertruck , is that I love that it’s designed so different and futuristic , and some people don’t like it, but they still look at it and comment on it, so it still brings people to talk about Tesla, free advertising . The thing that most hate about the Cybertruck , is that even at $80,000 I still do not come close to being able to afford it, but a 4 year Model 3 owner can dream , right? 😁
Hopefully, the price will continue to come down so more folks can enjoy the truck. I'd like to see a smaller version that is about the size of a Tacoma.
@ a smaller version would be cool! I’d settle for a crossover or sedan with Cybertruck styling, much like the Cybercab …
My faves are FSD and the POWER outlets as your mobile electric generator.
FSD is definitely a fave! The power outlets are cool especially having 220v. As a daily driver I have not needed the outlets yet. I'm sure the day will come.
Nice video. Interesting about driveability. Looks like the full package for what one would need.
It's a real truck and a real Tesla. I love driving it. It has become my daily driver back and forth to work. It's also great for my weekend activities carrying a tent canopy, lawn chairs, ice chest, and other outdoor equipment.
@@maxqbbq on my bucket list. It does it all, in style.
The Tesla supercharger network should not be one of the likes of the cybertruck.
I agree. The Superchargers are a benefit of owning a Tesla not specific to the Cybertruck. Therefore, I updated the video to add in my like of the Steer by wire and rear steering.
They still use that rivet? So cheap!
A Pop-rivet has got to be one of the cheapest fixes of all time. It works.
A Pop-Rivet has to be one of the cheapest fixes around. It works.
Yeah, but when you drop 80k to 100k, you don’t expect to see a rivet holding a fake metal cover over the accelerator.
There are coat hooks. They are right next to the lights in the back. Simply push the hook and I’d deploys down.
Thank You. I had no idea. I will adjust the video.
Looky there! You’re awesome and enjoyed hearing your likes and dislikes. My uncle has a Tesla and loves it.
Glad you liked the video. My daughter has one, but I am new to the family.
You have gone MAD with this purchase! Cheers!
Totally! Four years and eight months of waiting does that to you.
FSD seems to be nothing more than cruise control with eyesight technology.
In many ways it is advanced cruse control with lane centering technology. The difference is its ability to driving changes and self-navigate through a situation. It's ability to navigate and drive the vehicle from door to door is quite an advancement. It's good now, but will get so much better with ever increasing powerful computer hardware.
A nice Little diversion from the bbq videos. You should join the TH-cam norms and do a walk around video followed by a “5 favorite things” followed by a “5 worst things” about the truck.
I'm keeping a list of the good and bad things about the truck. Let me know if you have any other ideas. Maybe soon. I have four BBQ videos in the computer that I need to get published first. That's my todo list for this weekend.
@@maxqbbq I’m also curious about what led u to buy the cyber truck with all the other options out there now, even within the Tesla brand.
Leave it to a Tesla driver to camp in the left lane.
Going the same speed as the cars in front of them? You are a moron. He is keeping up with the flow of traffic.
LOL. It has it's own personality. I wonder, what driver styles do you use to train the network? Maybe in the future, Tesla will let you choose the personality of FSD.
@@maxqbbq Leave it to a Tesla driver to blame his own actions on the car that he's driving. 🤣 You are literally responsible for everything you allow your car to do. It's like letting it crash into another vehicle then telling the police that your car is just quirky that way. Don't be a clown.
True. You are literally responsible for everything you allow your car to do. The driver is the supervisor of the vehicle. The driver signs a disclosure. The software is only an optional aid. It may be a while before it can be fully autonomous. Yet, we all still love our cruise control.
Have you ever done a biscuit test on the 1959? I’m really interested in learning more about this pit before I place my order. Thumbs up on your videos and channel!

Not yet! There are hot spots near the firebox due to radiant heat entering through the port. There is second hot-spot where the hot gasses descend down to collection duct for the stack. The sweet spot is downstream of center. Additionally, the top grate is noticeably hotter than on the main grill level. While there is a large amount of mixing and turbulence, hot air rises until it is forced down to exit. In my case, I use the hot-spot knowledge to adjust my cooking temperatures for when I need more heat on an area.
