Bonsai started in china. Egypt yes, potted trees without making them smaller. China started the mini garden thing with mountains and trees and ferns ect ect. The japanese (who suck) stole it and focused on the just tree part and now claim authority. Also with sand make sure you mention it has to be large sand grains or it will cause root rot.

Listen man number one thing about bonsai is to never listen to people who do bonsai. Problem: 1. Japan is over protective so they put out misinformation on purpose to stop others from leading the way. 2. "Experts" will ripyou apart for doing anything non typical. 3. The newest people to pathe the way are australian bonsai and south american bonsai. Thr number one contention point right now: araucaria cannot bonsai. It is a lie. These people are so stupid it hurts. Almost as much as disney live action remakes.

I'm from South west Louisiana. They grow all over the place along the road sides here! I grew mine from seed, I save the seeds from trees all over every year. They're also called the Tree of Happiness. You can make tinctures and tea from the leaves, stem and flowers. Supposed to have a ton of medicinal benefits. I'm going to experiment next summer. White Knight, White Princess and White Wizard tend to have variegated leaves when they're young. As they mature they tend to revert to green.

I have the yellow sticky paper works really good to control fruit flies but I removed because everything get in the sticky paper, so I have to rescued lizards and small birds.

That needs full sun if you want it grow big and look good. Great plant

I've had my baby pv for about 4months it hasn't grown not one inch but has sprouted a new leaf. I have it on well drained soil with orchid bark. Roots look great and temp is good. Not sure what to do

🤣🤣 You did a photoshoot with your plant?! Too much! I had two. The first one I killed in error by moving it from PON to cocopeat. If you decide to grow your plant in PON which it loves, leave it there. If you want to grow one in an aroid mix, then start it out there. You can move to PON later, but I would not recommend. This plant will rot if you sneeze on it. I got a second TC that lost the entire root and was freaking out. Thankfully it had a point and one small leaf that would not open. The vendor didn't know what to tell me. I put it in water, and nothing happened. I was scared it would rot so I decided to drop it in something called Fluval Stratum, and the magic happened. I had to take pictures to show to the vendor on Etsy. Today she has six leaves and another huge one coming in. She sits in a chunky mix with biochar, worm castings, compost, Leca, Perlite, coco husk with a little PON on the bottom. I use Great White myco, King Crab bacteria, a good fertilizer, and water when it needs it. I am never cutting my plant, I would rather get another small one and start over there.

I just learned to use charcoal on the ends of a cutting. I had a huge bag and don't like using it in my plants because of the dark color when watering. I am so glad I did not throw that bag out like I did a bag of Miracle Gro (horrible) perlite. I am going to put some of that charcoal in my mortar and pestle and grind up some powder and save to put on my cuttings. I purchased a Florida Beauty, when I actually wanted a Ghost. Wild Fern has one that she let crawl across the top of her cabinet and I decided I wanted one. We shall see how my beauty goes. 333 on your thumbs up, and I love it! Here goes 334!
