This card problem would be true also in the trading card game community, except it has been solved bc we're nerds. We protect our cards with 'sleeves' which are plastic pockets that are transparent on the face, but opaque on the back of cards. These days they're mandetory for turnaments (for multiple reasons) and they get inspected before games, where even something like fingermarks or scratches coming off instantly causing the whole deck to be considdered marked.

i've done quite well counting cards over the years.. of course, i'm small scale.. so it flies under the radar.. few thousand a session when the count finally gets right.. not enough for them to notice.. but enough for me to have fun and put a few bucks in my pocket.. auto-shufflers really put a kink in my fun tho.. finding a decent game is difficult.. and then being allowed to use the advantage is even harder.. they really gotta jack with the little guy too..

You cannot be assured you will have that money at the end - You are gambling afterall and just lost a million. And you don't have access to your own money, which is why you had to borrow. How are you going to assuredly re-pay your loan? Someone's telling porky pies, or the video creator has the story wrong because that don't make no sense.

I’m a professional gambler (all online), and I say this as someone who has had their winnings withheld, been asked for extra ID and personal info, and has been asked to explain their play pattern: Ivy WAS cheating. I have a lot of respect for the story, the grandeur of it. I’ve had big hits, and I know the feeling of striking something that no one else sees yet. And in general, any dollar stolen back from the casino is wholesome work. But that said, I think it’s a little silly that so many people can’t understand why Ivy didn’t keep his wins. He RIGGED the game. That was the whole point. He could not have made the money unless the game had been rigged. That’s why they didn’t want to get found out. I can say all this because I too have cheated before. Even online it’s possible. A glitch that isn’t caught. Extra accounts in other names. Playing both sides in a game that doesn’t normally allow it. When I do advantage play, it’s usually playing a generous offer over many safe bets. I don’t hide it since it doesn’t need to be hidden. Eventually some casinos cut me off for playing too well. But when I cheat, I do hide it. I do it infrequently, I do it methodically, I do it in a way that can be plausibly denied. I know that if I get caught, I’m in the wrong. All said, I would’ve still paid Ivy. The London casino probably closed because they had a reputation for “not paying their VIPs”. But I think it’s silly for a scammer to swindle someone and pretend “they let me do it” is a valid legal defense. I don’t blame Ivy for trying, but I hope he didn’t think he was actually in the right. Never believe your own con.

It's amazing, I started this video pretty neutral on the subject and now I kinda wish these two hucksters were in jail. Just because the casino employs social engineering doesn't mean you are required to partake in them, and it certainly doesn't justify cheating to get back at them. Ivey spent how many years flying all across the world, getting treated like a king among peasants by these casinos, and I'm supposed to feel sorry for him that he got caught abusing an undiscovered exploit? It's also pretty wild to use a Short Squeeze on Nickel as an example of "finding any edge possible". Sorry, but short positions on physical materials is pretty devious and probably should be considered market manipulation. But because these hotshot investors can't be held personally accountable for their contempt of risk analysis, the best thing regulators could do was temporarily stop trading on this completely artificial market swing. That action cost these already rich traders a lot of potential gains, sure, but it likely saved the global nickel economy, let alone their dependant industries. Ridiculous, childish, and downright scummy behavior by gambling addicts, and this video wants me to think the regulators are stealing money from traders, like it's not the very same traders artificially lowering the value of an actually useful product so they can go play God-King on their yachts and jets. I hope everyone realizes that essentially all UK based casinos can withhold money or steal your chips for any reason they want. There is almost never any legal recourse because the courts unanimously side with them. They are way worse than Native run casinos in the states, so gamble in the UK at your own risk.

It's taking advantage of the set rules and conditions that are agreed upon. Other players will fell cheated but the casino set the rules and conditions and are liable as much as the other players who should have requested those mirrors be removed or a equal wall of mirrors be installed behind Ivy . Card cou ting is not cheating.... Edge sorting also is not cheating.. The rulling of those courts is direct results of political corruption of a pointing judges who ideology are bias in favor of corporate profiteering gardeners . Hey, use this as proof that you, "the little guy", will NEVER get ahead. I mean, come on! This guy literally found a method to MANIPULATE casinos to win money. This is their entire business model used against their patrons. He didn't cheat, he socially engineered the casinos to advocate his strategy. What he did is a gray area of immorality, but is LEGAL. I can't speak to his violation of the contract(s) as I don't know exactly what was written (and that could very well be the reasoning and justification for the courts ruling against him). However, I can say, in my opinion, what he did was fair. The Borgata profited $729.7 million in 2023. And they cried about the 1%. Since casinos base their income ENTIRELY on statistical advantage as well as social manipulations of their patrons, it is illogical to gamble, EVER. Those that do are being preyed upon because if they were aware of these statistics and not impulsively urged to gamble, they would not. The practice of facilitating gambling activities, because of these facts, is inherently predatorial, and thus, highly unethical and immoral. Gambling, at its roots, was used in developing societies as a promise to quick wealth, often used and facilitated by illegal groups, gangs, mafioso, etc. It was and still is a predatorial practice to drain the money of its patrons through statistical advantage and manipulation.

Since the word heist by definition means a robbery, and robbery by definition is the unlawful gaining of property, there's no such thing as a legal heist, it is by definition illegal you dumbass.

It's very obviously cheating to anyone with a functioning moral compass, however, it would be hard to argue that the Casinos don't deserve it. Wish they had gotten away with it.
