They cut the part about the mayor saying he saw some guys with beards and Any says "That was Burley Peters, he had blueberry pie for lunch". Also, this had to one of the very last shows were Floyd was still able to walk. He had a stroke around 1963 and was always shown sitting down after that.

To this day, my dad still laughs at this episode... I remember first watching it on TV with him when I was in the 2nd grade & found it hilarious. 'The Mayberry Band' was literally the first episode of 'The Andy Griffith Show' that I ever watched, as a matter of fact...

I love Howard McNear as Floyd, grinning from ear to ear as he's marching. All the time not playing a note of music! Andy somehow cons the mayor into listening to his abominable band. His facial expressions are of a man ready to jump off a bridge. I was ready to cry with laughter at this marching band from hell. Not a bad trade though. Worst band. Best show.
