You can mask it manually in fusion, it's kinda time consuming but not that hard. Lookup masking in fusion.

As @Photovintageguy mentioned, you can absolutely achieve this in the free version, but you’ll need to manually mask your subject in Fusion without the help of the Magic Mask tool. It’s a bit time-consuming but totally doable! 😊

Sure! ❤ In the free version of DaVinci Resolve, you can still achieve a similar effect, but it would require manually masking your subject frame by frame. It’s definitely more time-consuming, but with patience, you can get great results! Let me know if you’d like me to make a tutorial on how to do this. 😊

Yes, advanced effects are, unfortunately, difficult if not impossible to achieve on the free version. 😕

You’re absolutely right! It’s only available in the Studio version. Unfortunately, the free version is best for basic editing and color grading, but as soon as you want to add effects to your videos, you’ll need DaVinci Resolve Studio. 😔

Strange. I specifically tested the second method on the free version and it worked fine. 😕 Are you sure you set the composite mode to screen?

@@gianniness It is. I saw a video recently showing how to hide Text behind objects but also how to have the text open up the video which is nuts to me. It is leagues better than anything else I've used prior but some things are a bit trickier to time but the amount of plug-ins it permits is amazing. Did you know you could use something like OcenAudio or Audacity or even Reaper to directly edit your audio timeline? It is amazing what I keep finding from watching the many tutorials here on YT.

@@gianniness what I like about your clips is that they are quick and to the point. Other people will find ways to turn a 1 minute clip into a 20 minute clip... which I don't like, but they have good results in the #s. When I mean show, some people will sit there drinking a coffee while talking. Or something along those lines. Anyways, keep doing what your doing. thanks for the videos.
