There was one in Auburn, New York at Emerson Park.

I grew up in El Campo, TX which had a Rocket Slide exactly like this one at Friendship Park. That was in the ealy 80's. I remember stuck at the top screaming for my mommy. Sadly it was taken down in the late 90's or early 2000's. Thank you for sharing this awesome little experience.

We had one of these growing up in Massachusetts. It was at greenhill park Worcester.

When it rains you see an occasional one, the “lake”itself is mostly groundwater fed.

There is a similar rocket at a park in Waukon, Iowa that has been there for decades.

I leaved here 1982-1997. Lots of memory. Nothing have changed. Except model of car bikes on the road. Thanks for showing simple view of this lively city.

Wow, thank you for the video. We had this set up at our park in Crestview FL for years. I remember when I was about 4, I climbed to the top of the rocket only to get scared and climb down lol That big slide though was almost never used in the summer here in FL, You would get burned easy on it.

What was the name of the little house like playground thing that was sitting next to that through the 80's that you'd get into and run so it would spin (like log rolling, but inside it)?

A church in Sacramento had one of these in the very early nineties. Even then it was splashed with rust and had a pronounced lean and wobble. Only one I had ever seen, couldn't even find any through search. I literally JUST found out the actual name, and even NOW very little comes up!

Hah! I almost forgot about those! We had one at our playground. It was free spinning and we used to get that thing really spinning fast. Also it had splinters. If a kid could not keep up, oh well.

Hi Nels. We have one like this in Brasília, operating since the early 70s. Several years ago the slides were removed. I think it never had the smallest slide before the bridge. But it is still there, quite a landmark for the city. Google for "foguetinho parque da cidade brasilia" and you will see the pictures. Amazing seeing you go down those slides!

I played on the rocket ship all the time when I was a little boy. I’m 57 now!

I banged my head on that very slide many times as a kid in the 1970s. I just visited Hudson yesterday and surprised to see it still there.
