I'm in Michigan, USA and I just bought a wood carving by Michael at a thrift store!

Thanks for this interview. My Aunt Eileen took me to Ireland in 1988 and we stopped at Michael's shop. The carvings I brought back to the US have stayed with me my whole life. What an amazing life he has had. 95!!! Wow, Blessings to him and his family.

Well done Brendan and Peter, very enjoyable interview. Funny enough I once talked to the man who owns that Batchelor building a long while back about converting it into artist studios. The idea was to include a cafe/social hub for artists and also a performance space etc. He seemed interested at the time 'to my delight' but then went radio silent on it and never responded to any further correspondence unfortunately.

Great show, Michael is a treasure and this chat will be a great time capsule for many to wonder at in future years. My perfect pub session chat would include Michael with John Moriarty and Gore Vidal for spice!
