No, it will sound raspy, stupidly loud, and exactly like the trumpet noise you’re used to hearing from loud VQ’s. Almost all long tube headers are going to sound the same, but PPE’s sound slightly better due to being equal length headers. I have videos of the setup you’re talking about with the smaller muffler box (it’s called the resonated thunder pipe), and it sounds downright horrible. Every other way to fix it would involve preventing that piece from moving, so you could spray grease or lubricant in that white plastic part, but you’d still have to do all the work to access it.

That was a hose that opens or closes the flow rate by twisting the handle

I don’t think the sound would change much with just the Z1 Y pipe, but I have a Motordyne Y pipe that I can sell you. The Motordyne Y pipe allows you to swap in a larger muffler if it’s too loud for your taste.

@@ThatRedNismo is the y pipe resonated? And how much do you want for it? I just want to keep my nismo exhaust and make it little louder and faster without casing check engine light or some bs like that.

@TimGtmf No, but that’s the best part of the Motordyne Y pipe. The top of the ‘Y’ section (the part that looks like a ‘V’), is one piece, and then there is a V-band flange at the bottom of the V where the pipes connect. The v-band flange allows you to swap in or out different exhaust pieces like a resonator, straight pipe, or high flow cat, as you please, without having to do any welding or worry about buying new exhaust gaskets. I have the straight pipe section, but I’m sure I can source you a resonator. Shoot me an email, it’s in my TH-cam bio.

@Jaw__s It COULD, but I don’t think that it would affect it much at all. Maybe only a 5-10 km/h difference at top speed. I hit 270 km/h in my Nismo with the big muffler box on the left in the thumbnail.

You would need to disassemble the motor to add more grease in it

The Motordyne shockwave is the exhaust. The thunder pipe is an optional piece that replaces the main muffler box that comes standard on the shockwave exhaust.
