Ken Pope Celebration of Life
A gathering to remember Ken Pope
Because of possible copyright infringement problems, we did not include the music - which people who were there in person heard - with the slideshow. For anyone who cares to add a soundtrack of their own, it went like this:
Ronnie & The Daytonas - Little GTO
The Ventures - Hawaii 5-0 Theme song
The Shadows - Apache
The Sandals - Theme from The Endless Summer

Screen Sharing Macs with No Network

There are lots of instructional videos on how to do this with a functioning wireless network but what if you're in the middle of nowhere and there are no networks to connect to?

2004 XC70 with bearing-like noise Turned out to be both front tie rod ends and both front wheel bearings. No wonder it was a little noisy.

Incredible documentary and feat!! Good work behind the lens Danny - Ethan and Matt
Great film, great adventure. I led an expedition to attempt the N ridge of Kennedy in 1978, not successful. We were there in April, which was too early. I loved the rafting sequence! We skied in and out. Such a beautiful mountain. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much Tim. Very moving to see and hear. Wish I could have been there iin person
Thank you Tim. Was at a friend's place for dinner and we watched "Buried:The 1982 Alpine Meadows Avalanche". When I got home I remembered that everyone was gathering up top to celebrate Ken. An extremely emotional evening. Thanks again.
Thanks from me too. Marc
Thank you. Poper you will be very much missed. Thank you Richard and Tim.❤

Sorry everyone. Technical problem. There will be a video which I will post later. I will try to re-establish the stream but it will need a new link.
If you get it going, can you post the link here
I think the live stream will be starting shortly
Can anyone notify anyone, its not live streaming ... it says 'streamed' 1 hour ago .........?
Waiting.
Can anyone else see the video yet?
Not me....
No
My fondest memory of Ken Pope was after he got punched in the face by Ryan Howard who was a Whistler ski patroller who just had his april fools planned foiled by the Blackcomb Ski Patrol. Ken responded very calmly and said "he punches like a girl".
I had never heard that one - awesome!
Whos Ken Pope?
Thanks so much for sharing this. I knew Bruce back when he and his family lived in Brighton. My deepest condolences to Mary, Willard, Paul, and Brian. Thinking of you all...
You didn't tell us how to wire the connector !
What are the intermittent audio dips during this video? Like it's losing signal and cutting off your voice.
many thanks!!..the supposed to be “surgery” turned into a smooth repair!..
so good. epic film
TAKE THE WHIIIIPPPPP
scary!
Nice film for the time. Thank you.
Awesome attempt. Gnarly ridge, love that area.
It remember this showing at the Mountain Film Fest in Banff in the early 90's. It was my favorite film of all, even compared with the big budget films. I recall it was filmed with left over discarded film (from the K2 film perhaps?). Really captured the feeling of being gripped on a sketchy run out. The climbing looks ridiculously hard. Guess the protagonist decided to go to Mom's birthday after all? Well done!
Wouldn't you know it, but the actor, Peter Stebbings, was not a climber and had never used a chainsaw. He just acted really well. The close-up climbing shots were about 2 feet off the ground in the Smoke Bluffs. The long shots of Perry Beckham on Uncle Ben's were for real, though - as was JJ's gigantic whipper. Everybody directly involved in the making of that film is still around, incidentally - although several have had some pretty close calls.
Shit that was really good. Gave me a hell of an adrenaline rush sitting in my chair.
LOL, it's a love story
