I got one id be willing to get rid of

I thought all of the black SS/Ts had the light gray interior until I saw one at a Mopar show. It was identical to my truck except it had the tan leather interior. I bet the tan interior is pretty rare. I've only seen one in person.

This truck gets 12 mpg in town if you're lucky. I drove to the dealership hoping to see a new Dakota R/T. They hadn't received one yet and my SS/T was sitting on the showroom floor. I would still like to have a nice Dakota R/T.

They are Nokian Tires. I need to replace them. They've been on the truck since 2006.

Thanks for the compliment. I would not consider selling the truck or the wheels. I've had the truck way too long and the wheels belong to the truck.

It amazes me that they put such nice exhaust on a factory car. It sounds better than some race cars.

If you saw it up close, you'd see it isn't pristine. I have tried to take care of it and it is in great condition.

Thanks! I don't know if these Rams will ever be worth much. Dodge trucks always lag way behind GM pickups in value for some reason. Back when this truck was new, I figured it would be worth as much or more than a same year GM pickup. We all know I was wrong.

@@GLHS592 there's a black sst at the yard by my work. I don't remember how long it's been there, but the pictures they posted, it still had the wheels. I think it was hit in the front.....might go at lunchtime and have a look.

@GLHS592 So, I went and found that truck. Looks nicer in the pics, looks like it spent it's life outside. Hood, fenders front bumper and grill were hit. Only 3 sst wheels(not gashed up, just need refinishing if you're looking for extra wheels. ) it had a for sale sign behind the seat, didn't say the mileage, but said the 5.9 was strong......some usable trim, and power drivers seat.

It is a factory package that included the decals, wheels, exhaust, and 5-10 more horsepower.

@@GLHS592 oh and it only comes in the single cab I’m guessing I have a 96 ram 1500 but the engine got swapped out for a 360 I believe how would I check if it’s a 318 or 360 ?

@@IgobyJayyy There is a casting number around the starter on the engine block. The balancers on the front are different. The 318 has a small smooth looking one. The 360 one has a grove around it.

Thanks. This truck got a ton of compliments when it was new to 5 years old. After that, I didn't seem to get too many comments. In the last few years, people notice it. I've had a few people show a big appreciation for the truck and its condition. Most people are amazed that I have never used the bed. I still love the truck and enjoy driving it.

Thanks. If you don't have to drive a vehicle to work and can store it inside, it is much easier to keep them clean. I actually need to clean it up a little. It's still a little dirty from sitting and the recent intake repair.

Beautiful truck, I was a diehard GM guy until I went and bought a 19 5th gen ram 1500 it's a triple Black Laramie Sport with the Hemi and 3.92 gears.. just rolled 107k miles and still love it, been a great truck I just recently had to replace the water pump and a few broken exhaust manifold bolts. I still love the truck and debating on buying the new 25 model with the high output I-6. 540 class leading horse power yes please.. just gonna be hard to get past the sound. Lol thanks for sharing I want to build one of these with a hellcat and 8spd.. one day. Lol

@@bmf88 Thanks. I'd like to have another 2nd Gen. Ram 2wd shortbed to build. I'd like to either do a 392 Hemi swap or build a supercharged Magnum stroker. I would feel bad about cutting my truck, so I'd want something I could c-notch the frame to drop it down more than my truck and maybe do a 4th gen Ram interior swap. The 4.7 and Hemi trucks had water pump and exhaust manifold issues. I have had two 4.7s with those issues, but they are good engines. I'm an old Mopar guy, but I think my 2019 Challenger 392 T/A will be my last new one. When I replace my wife's 2016 Grand Caravan, I think I'll look at Toyota, Honda, and Kia/Hyundai.

My Tremec isn't notchy at all. I run my car in Sport mode mostly. Your 1 to 2 shift could be "skip shift" forcing you into 4th gear. You can get a skip shift eliminator or just drive the car in sport or track mode. Skip shift is only active in default street mode. My clutch works just like any other good manual vehicle I've ever driven. If you are having issues, I'd take it in for warranty work.

@@GLHS592 I appreciate your response. Yeah...I am not a fan of dealership service departments. I believe dealership mechanics do more harm than good. But as you have indicated, my issues may have to require warranty work. I have never line locked, dragged or dogged the car. At 1,700 miles the car is too new to be so temperamental in 1st and 2nd gear.

My experience is that 2nd gear is really only useful for all-out pulls or turns.. I go straight from 1st to 3rd gear for smooth, easy-going driving. 2nd is just geared too close to 1st for around town driving.

Thanks. It is a solid car. It has around 7300 miles on it right now. I don't drive the car daily. I don't get on it too hard very often.

I have a 5.7 and I think I shift around 5600 rpm. Maybe 58.

Those are "front runners" on the back. This Shelby Charger is still FWD.
