Structural reasons are the key to a winning debate argument. For many people out there competitive debating is a sport-like activity crowning world champions every year among hundreds of competitors from the best universities in the world.
My name is Niki, I am a finalist of the biggest debating championships in the world - WUDC and EUDC. I have a passion for competitive debating and curiosity about the humans behind our community and what makes them passionate about this activity. My quest is to interview them all.

Why does his accent sound drastically different from the accent he uses in debates? He has an Oxbridge accent when he’s debating, but he has a Peranakan accent here.
OG>CG>OO>CO
22:44 Unless you guys can get 7 nobel prizes in economics and explain to us how that is not a problem...😭
Who did he mention as the GOAT debater
OG and CO
I loved this conversation! Stefan is such a good sport in spilling the spins and the tea🔥 Edit: i cant wait to watch their EUDC 2016 semi final he referenced. 💯
Is the debate Milos talks about available on youtube? I'm looking for it but can't find it. TIA!
Like, like, mondongo (re bueno)
which was that funny speech ashish said he wouldve given a 93 because it was so funny in the euro semis?
such an underrated episode *chefs kiss✨
such a beautiful conversation. Thank you Rumen, Milos and Marta! (and Nikolay)
such a wholesome conversation.
what the hell are you guys even say
1st CG 2nd OG 3rd OO 4th CO
please reach out to Tobi Leung 😭😭😭and David is right...He is the best 2nd speaker in the world ❤
I've noticed that Australian debaters are rarely mentioned in the GOAT discussions, and I wonder how come, because I've always found Elle, Bisset, and Tim Mooney among the absolute top.
any tips for a second speaker in wsdc, struggle with intros and appearing likeable in debates , often speak fast aswell
Call?
Do u find the tab now
so true 😭 debate as an extracurricular changed my life, but the classroom debates were really bad. not even bc of the teacher, it was just that no one knew how to debate, and no one was given adequate time to explain their ideas thoroughly.
Damn pls let us know that this is the seasons finale of the podcast since we clearly not getting an episode soon 😂❤❤
Ayal is one of the greatest debaters to ever grace the debate stage. And to assume any different is not really good thinking when you identify that a debater is not amazing alone. But is amazing with the people/partner they debate with.❤
I loved listening to this... Matt is an excellent debater and has a great insight into the bp debate game. Thank you Nikki for being such a great interviewer - the most chill and most laid back there ever was ❤️
no new episode this week ??
Soonish <3
Who does chin speak about at the bottom of the top 10? Sam blanc? Can someone link some of their speeches?
The speaker he is referring to is Sam Van Elk, you can find one of his speeches by looking up the Oxford IV 2017 Finals which chin actually mentions here
does alek hate debaters that are well liked ? because i would imagine that any "overrated" speaker has achieved a point in their debate careers where they deserved that high praise... and so the implicit frustration in debaters that are well respected is weird to me coz ppl will like who they like 😭😭😭😶🌫
Great convo! Where can we find the Grand Final for HWS RR 2024?

Honestly not much debate content out there. As a seventh grader getting into PH debate, this has really given me more context on the scene. Thanks for hosting these!
NA NA NA!!!!
Great content! Love the consistency Is there a way I could correspond with you personally?
Hello niki, could you tell who hadar said was the greatest debater? I couldnt understand
It's Dan Lahav
I’m commenting to increase engagement, this channel deserves more subs
the real MVP <3

Erasmus is G.O.A.T-ed ..... and Structural Reasons, Niki, and Rumen are 💥🤯🔥🔥🔥
🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿
I love how you plugged his music at the beginning - that's how you honor a guest 💫
I am officially a life long stan of this podcast. Thank you for this conversation Nikki - it is always encouraging seeing a fellow African getting such a valuable representation from a member of the wider debating community. ❤❤❤❤💯
