Turkey Calling (Basic Instruction - World Champion Box)
My name is David Neck. I have hunted turkeys since 1981 and these are some of the calls I like to use to hunt wild turkeys. These videos are for people just getting a new call and wanting to understand how to start using the call with basic instructions. Your skill levels will improve with more practice and hearing the vocalization of live turkeys. When hunting wild turkeys it is an advantage to have several calls to try, so learn several types of calls and find what the gobbler likes on that day. Good luck!

One of the largest turkeys ever filmed, this turkey has a massive spur on his left leg and a beard at least 12". Just an awesome day to be hunting and a turkey coming a long way, even crossing a creek to get to us. He liked the Lynch Spring Fever Triple Reed!

    I must have got a lemon or something. Mine doesn't sound anything like a hen. I bought this because it was made in USA but it sounds like crap

      It might need tuning. If you want a box call hand crafted. Look up High Class Calls, from Matt Van Cise. He is a true craftsman. All turkey.

    I have a Lynch's foolproof. Does it matter which kind of call I use depending on the season and time of day?

    • @LynchSince
      @LynchSince 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The call itself doesn’t matter. The call sequence is more important.

    I've had mine almost 40 years. They work. I always start out with this call due to its great range. I've had them come a "long" ways to get to this call. As shown, it will make every sound you'll need.

    What about the holes in the lid?

    • @LynchSince
      @LynchSince ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Randy, the holes in the lid are used to create lid stops when running the call. A toothpick is inserted through a hole that you choose to do clucks and yelps. The 3 hole lid was last produced around 1970 i Liberty, MS. Other calls with more up to 12 were much older calls and made in Birmingham, AL. Hope that helps.

    Gobbler side is good for old Hen yelps. I bought my World Champion in around 1994. Still have it. It is good for sounding like 2 Hens as well. Yelp on one side like a Old Hen- then the other side.

    • @LynchSince
      @LynchSince ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes Bill, both sides may work to imitate a hen depending on how it's tuned and the particular wood.

    The way I chop my Lynch is by placing my finger on the end of the box barely leaning into the opening and letting the the action rest against it. I pop it with my other hand and it makes a perfect quick chop and sounds very realistic. So I'm basically popping it against something that gives a little resistance and that remains stationary. A lot less movement. I called in my first turkey like that, a nice 21+ pounder.

    • @LynchSince
      @LynchSince ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a very common way to get good consistent clucks, cackles and cutts. The finger acts as a spring to make the lid bounce back. Thanks for the feedback!
