Battle Hymn of the Republic

Julia Howe coined the words to "Battle Hymn of the Republic" as a warning to the entire nation of God's Judgment for Slavery. The Lord seemed to be telling me the warnings in this hymn are equally applicable to today. www.cuttingedge.org/news/n1188.cfm www.mothersdaycelebration.com/story-of-julia-ward-howe.html en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_Hymn_of_the_Republic www.harvardsquarelibrary.org/poets...

For ((STEREO)) th-cam.com/video/eh4SlvHzemY/w-d-xo.html&fmt=18 Sandy Nelson was the biggest - and one of the few - star drummers in the late 1950s and early 1960s era in which instrumental rock was at its peak.
Great song for St. Patrick's Day!
What beautiful song and voice! <3
I'm the only one who remembers this song from Sifl and Olly.
I used to hear this constantly on WCBS-FM 101.1’s ‘Friday Night 50s’ program with disc jockey Bobby Jay! What memories they were! 😎✌️👌
Glad I found this here.....Alexa couldn't find it the other night!
AWESOME.
A unique fun song. Memorable. .and has a good beat. I'd give it at least a 90...
As long as you could do the "American Bandstand" Cha-cha, you were a star !
Remember Bob & Justine?
My mom passed away 2 years ago....and she used to sing this song to me all the time when i was little....i didnt know the name...only a few words and the tune. Google helped me find this and im so happy i found it. Brought tears to my eyes because im so happy but i miss her. Didn't think i would ever find this song. Thank you
On this day in 1958 {December 5th} Billy and Lillie performed "Lucky Ladybug" on the Dick Clark ABC-TV weekday-afternoon program, 'American Bandstand'... Just over two weeks later on December 22nd it entered Billboard's Top 100 chart at position #77, five weeks later it would peak at #14 {for 1 week} and it spent thirteen weeks on the Top 100... In 1963 the Four Seasons covered the song, it was the B-side of their #1 record, "Walk Like A Man"... Besides "Lucky Ladybug", Billy & Lillie had three other Top 100 records; "La Dee Dah" {#9 in 1958}, "Happiness" {#56 in 1958}, and "Bells,Bells Bells (The Bell Song)" {#88 in 1959}... The week "Lucky Ladybug" peaked at #14, their label-mates on Swan Records,the Quaker City Boys, were peaking at #39 with their "Teasin'"... And from the 'For What It's Worth' department, "Lucky Ladybug" was at #25 the week before and the week after peaking at #14...

WOW! I can't believe that it was 55 years ago that we recorded "Lucky Ladybug"! Billy is no longer with us but I thank God that I'm still here. You can check me out by going to lillie bryant dot com to see what I've been doing for the past 55 years. I'm still here so I must be a Luckly Ladybug. WOW!
Thanks for the wonderful vocal on this, Lillie!
What a great sound you had, big fan of doo wop!
I hope you are proud of yourself. To have left a musical legacy like this - Grand Prize, gurl.
How are you doing now Lillie? Hope everything is still fine.
Were you and Billy boyfriend and girlfriend?
Very Catchy. I remember hearing this 45-50 years ago!

slow it down man...
He's playing it as the swing tune it originally was. This was recorded in 1941. Tony Bennett is the one that turned it into a ballad in 1950 or 51.

It was such fun to dance to back then!
1959 = VERY GOOD YEAR !!!!
MARAVILHOSO!!!
@Ezdduf4kuZ Not played as an "oldie" because they only skim the surface at most oldies stations... they only seem to play the super hits... lucky for me the oldies station here in San Diego did include this one...
@GiorgiaKasten066 Real player works great.

GREAT old song! I used to listen to the radio after school, Alan Freed and Peter Trip back in NJ. This was always a favorite! Ahh, REAL music back then. Today? Simply put CRAP!
sweet music @ spacepatrolman: tht sux
I remember this hit from '58, as they seemed to be playing it when i was in the kitchen, whatever, I didn't have my own radio at the time so it was my mom's radio that was playing. I might of heard it only 3 times...and I didn't forget it throughout my highschool years to this very day. It wasn't really considered your average rock hit & therefore it wasn't played as an oldie when I finally got my transister radio in '60. It's a novelty classic like alley opp & I thankyou for posting it!!
Excellent song
this was my parents wedding song back in sept 18 1971 my mom died on march 25 2007 and i love that i found this song
Wow. What memories. Remember that as a young teen. Great to listen to, dance to.
As they used to say on American Bandstand, "It's easy to dance to, and it has a good beat!"
at least you could finish the song
What a beautiful song!
Ah, the song from which I took my infamous screenname. ♥ Though the version I was introduced was the 4 Seasons' cover (which is still my favorite). Thanks for posting this! :)
