Great video. I now know as a goofy teenager I was throwing them wrong. 😂 You did say that you were going to have a link so one could order proper shurikens instead of the cheaply made ones found on the internet. But there’s no link. I was hoping that you could send me the link so that I can order some shurikens, throw them properly into a target and relive some of my carefree teenage years 😊. Thank you.

@ awesome, thank you.
Sounds like a cult
Why call it a katana technique if you dont use the katana? Your throwing glitter which is not a technique at all its just a distraction tool And the fact that you are holding your sheath is predictable that you will do something
You know a lot! Wow 😮
Great video :) your dojo looks really cool! Subscribed :)
This is so stupid and useless. Now I understand why you are blocking the comments on most of you videos: they are all garbage.
Good job on picking on a little kid. You must be tough
@@EmpireDojo A little kid with a beard? Are your mom and dad cousins?
Oh another bullshido video. Thank you for making me laugh.
We are glad we can be your entertainment 🎉
I did'nt know that throwing glitter is a "sword technique".
You changed the title, but "bikenjutsu" is still "sword technique" you clown.

The killing confettis. Wow! Are you serious?
Are you serious with your criticism? The fact that you think that we are doing this technique for real is laughable in itself.

So basically you're still teaching Genbukan methods but with a different name.
Lol if you say so .....the ryuha is the ryuha. Takamatsuden is takamatsuden. Doesn't matter which org it comes from. However the way we train them is different. You must be an expert. Maybe we should learn from you?
@EmpireDojo You say potatoe I say potato. From your other videos, it made it seem like you were going in a different direction. As for as being an expert, my tours in Iraq taught me a little something about combat..😉

Nice!!! 👏
Two requirements you've not mentioned: - ability to release ball so it flies straight forward to target (bullseye), rather than "around" something (slow and vulnerable). - you've done all this through the forward (thumb to ball) grip which isn't very useful. Really should use reversed grip (little finger to ball). Still very fundamental and much more useful. Nice work on the turns though. :)
This was good. Looking forward to the next episode.
The genbukan movement is very stiff
Did the Genbuken oppose Bruce Lee?
Nope. It was chuck Norris
Actually seiza no kamae (sitting posture)destroys the knees.....
Should Kusrai Gama basic 2 strikeing and cutting first one is good
Will do!
Seiza has absolutely nothing to do with Ninjutsu or Ninpo. It was implemented during Edo period, because it numbs the feet in prolonged kneeling. Intent probably to humiliate people and make attacks harder. So it's really ridiculous, but unfortunately custom today in Japan and most japanese Martial Arts. before Edo, most people were sitting cross legged. Seiza is really unhealthy for the feet.
how much did you pay for it?
If I remember correctly it was around $3200
Do a video on the lack of proof of the Ninpo scrolls.
Why don't you since you think you know. Smh

Never thought of that!!! I'll get up and train now. Just started when I made this video. Got my black belt from TH-cam. It was a great course.
Get to the goddamn point...
Yes master
is it traditional ju jitsu or modern ju jitsu?
Traditional but can be adapted to modern. This is the kata to learn the technique. Then add strikes, taisabaki etc.
Nice
Dear Luis Martinez, I'm not sure why are you getting all worked out and exited buy people like Michael Coleman? He's a person that still believes that he's a ninja and believes in magic? plus he's the"butler" of Shoto tanemura. I've met him Japan! Why do you take a person like him seriously? Was he or any one from ninpo still teaching the police or military as Krav-Maga or Gracie Jiu Jitsu does?? No...they all play the game of fake martial arts....So don't pay attention and let theem believe in the mambo-jambo magic and cart-whiles that tanemura and hatsumi are feeding them!
What’s your ranking in kukishinden ryu?

I'm making my own kusarigama, do you think a 550 paracord is too thin? I thought about the 750 paracord but it's a bit expensive
You should be fine. It all depends on what you like
Thank you for sharing your experience. I was around when these splits were going on but sadly not a part of the Ninja community. Politics has destroyed the community. You may even say Hatsumi started the downfall by giving out Dans to just about everyone, while other Japanese schools were largely traditional and limited to 10. When you are low level you leave a school and likely seek another style because you are not getting what you wanted when you first started. However, when you are a high rank instructor you tend to be invested and rather than join another style you end up creating your own. Where any of these high rank Ninjas go wrong is when they try to create their own lineage when in fact their skills go back to hatsumi. I'd rather them just admit that, "This is OUR way of doing things, but THAT guy over there was our first teacher. The Elephant in the Room is did Hatsumi make it all up? Who knows? Now we have lots of other people starting their own Ryu and others calling themselves Soke who never achieved any solid rank from Hatsumi. I have softened over the years and just don't care: Fake or not, the best teacher is the one I can learn from and the one that can teach me to improve. I don't care where you got a technique from as long as it works.
Thanks for sharing. I feel the same way. All martial arts, particularly any Ryu started from someone making it up. I don't care where it comes from as long as it works to my benefit in a match.
Couple years late but this video just came across my feed this evening. I started in Genbukan 15 years ago, went for a couple years then drifted off a little and TRIED really hard to get back into going regularly over the next couple years after that but ultimately fell off due to hectic life occurrences and also the teacher just wasn't good. I read the list of rules when I officially gained membership and they were exactly what you read off, verbatim. I knew it was all ridiculous but was just so woowed by the ninpo system and was so often told over and over again that they were the only true ninpo school and the only other ninpo org (Bujikan) was just "sloppy" and whatever else, that I figured it was worth tolerating their rigidness and excessive rules in order to excel in this martial art. Man looking back now this is low-key cult material. You are so right about anyone telling you you can't learn or train elsewhere being a red flag. I grew up in an actual cult and they ALL work like that.
Thank you for sharing your experience. If you ever want to get back into training check out the Shisenkan Kobudo Federation
@@EmpireDojo thanks, I hadn't heard of them. Their webpage doesn't list dojo locations, do you know if they happen to be in California? I recently found out there's a Bujinkan close to home so I'm thinking about that, if I can manage the time (single parenthood is challenging for these matters, but I'm slowly compiling list of places).

Thanks to Professor Peter Goldsbury for the English translation below. This is a genealogy newly put together by Takamatsu Toshitsugu, who made use of (took advantage of) the popularity of written materials on ninjutsu after the Taishō era. The transmission is said to be based on oral teachings of Toda Shinryūken. Toda Shinryūken (Isshinsai) died in Meiji 13 at the age of 73. Takamatsu’s birth took place four years later. According to this lineage, the ryū originated with a person named Ikai, separated from Hakuun Dōshi of Hakuun-ryū in the Yōwa era, became the Kōga and Iga-ryū of ninjutsu, passed through the lineage of Momochi Sandayū, entered the Natori-ryū of Kishū domain, and from Toda Nobutsuna onwards came to be passed down by the Toda clan. However, this genealogy refers to a variety of traditions and oral teachings, there are many points where it has added embellishments, it has made people whose real existence is based on written records older than is actually the case, and so it is a product of very considerable labor."
Hello, Sensei Luis
Roy Ron has been highly regarded in Genbukan for many years.
The "He-said-She-said" Kan will be the next Kan.
So how often are the zoom classes run? as I assume most people cant get to japan or have a affilated dojo in their area. And what waza, henka, kihon happo, sanchin no kata etc does he do differently? Also I am a yondan in Bujinkan so what would the monthly fees be? thanks
Zoom classes are usually held 3 to 4 times per month. Along with that there are seminars in different countries. Not sure where you're located but the next one is in the USA at our dojo in March for a week long. You would have to contact honbu about the fees. Inq@shisenkan.org
Thanks
Great video. I don’t train that style but love M.A history. Anthony Cummings has blown the roof off many of these traditions and proved many of past history is false and made up. But good to see you are following your own path as you can see many have done that over the years.
No he hasn't. Cummings is full of it.
at 16;08 in the video the big word products is spelled wrong on the website. just a heads up so you can fix it.
The only way to go.
Hey, I just noticed you joined Shisenkan. Is there any way I can contact you privately, Facebook or Wapp?
Yes you may. Email is best luis@empiredojo.com
My dear Friend, Genbukans first rule is about spiritual refinment, and any true Ninjitsu organisation is all about spiritual refinement, and spiritual refinement is not possible with things you do. I do not have anything against you and not blaming you or accuse you in any way, but by speaking about other organisations this way you harm yourself not others. Life goes just about the same way with you having your opinions or not. America is culturally very different from Japan, And the Organisation is Japanes therefore you should respect its ways an orders. My advice, leave it all othervice your ambition and seemingly wanting to get to the truth will simply harm you in a way that the essence of martial way will simply become obsolete for you, through your own decisions and behaviours.
Thank you for your opinion. I respect it. But will continue to stick with my opinion and the experience I went through. Not everyone had the same experience that is true.
Istudied In Genbukan for 9 years, I would not recommend anything but Genbukan to anyone. There are opinions by people but the system of Genbukan is the best. Learn what is there and skip the trash.
You only recommend Genbukan because you only trained Genbukan... Find a Shidokan, Kudo Daido Juku, Seidokan or Ashihara dojo... Learn something useful. I have a 2nd Dan in Genbukan and 1st Kyu in Jinenkan now a 3rd Dan in Shidokan Karate ... Switch it up... Check out Shidokan Triathlon competition... NOT Shotokan.
Sorry to hear that. I am learning Genbukan and have not had this experience and sensei also knows that I am learning BJJ. I have not had any bad experience with them. There was no charge for me to watch. I found them structured but quiet regimented and our local instructor is friendly but have repeatedly said they are quiet formal. I think there is a disconnect between western culture and far eastern culture in your approach.
I wasn't implying the entire gbk organization is bad. I apologize if that's how I came across. There are some wonderful sensei still involved in the organization. I was just explaining my experiences and some of their shady (in my opinion) business practices.
nice basic Kusari gama
Interesting video. I always wondered about the Genbukan. Training in the Bujinkan I was never told not to train with anyone else. The only exception to that was they highly recommended not training with the Genbukan. Even then it wasn't forbidden, but based upon this seems a solid recommendation
awesome demonstration
Thank you
It's not going to make a difference if the bully is not named. And Tanemura Sensei might not know about it. In Japan, they do not like things going public about scandalous individuals in their circles, which means the scandalous individuals might be behaving sycophantic around Tanemura and the Japanese, and an absolute terror stateside. There is also a reason why they say to not train with other ninpo organizations. It is not a red flag whatsoever with the Japanese. Japan does not treat a dojo as transactional places to acquire techniques. That's an American mindset, and they don't have to respond to it, because it's their culture. Even Hatsumi has talked about this, as well as the Japanese Soke in the Bujinkan.
