That line through the negatives in certain positions are from dust on one of the sensors on top. They look like 2 squares with thin plastic over them in the area where said not to put anything or else the epson won’t scan

You can get more details with a less precise sensor by just moving the subject a little or the sensor itself, capturing the image again, aligning them and combining them, capturing "sub-pixel" details. Most good phones do this nowadays and some cameras do it too, mainly medium format and some APSC fuji cameras (although cameras also increase the resolution). It also have the advantage of reducing noise. I think if a modern scanner were to be designed today, it should have something similar to that built-in.

I scan a lot of curly old negatives that don't fit the Epson holders. I find my sheet of ANR glass invaluable for flattening them and also to stop heat-induced curl of 'flat' odd-sized negatives.

I never have those curly negatives that you show in several videos. If I would have, I would put the film/filmstrip into my Paterson tank, fill it with water, and leave the film in there for, say, an hour. Next hang up the film for drying, using a film drying clip not only at the top but also at the lower end of the film, and maybe add a small weight to the lower clip. This way your film will dry up perfectly straight (and quite flat). Which is the reason I never have those curly negatives that you show in several videos. That's a lot to consider. I'm using the V600 and my first step will be to get the negatives flat with glass, then look at the focus height if I'm still not satisfied. I've had a few scans that I did when the film first dried that I thought should be sharper. They flattened out and I got a much better scan the second time but I still think they could be sharper than that. Those will be the first ones I try with the glass when it comes.

I'm not a Battle Royale fan but when I tried this for the first time in the Garena Beta, I instantly loved what I played and when the game released on Steam, I put 1.6k hours into this game and played almost regularly and had some great players from my area which made the experience much more enjoyable. The thing that made me love RoE is Dynamic Weather. I don't think I've ever seen any other game do it and do it properly like how RoE did and for me it kept the map fresh & interesting. After hearing that RoE getting shutdown, I was very sad and tried to find other BR games to fill that void but still to this day I haven't found any BR to give me that RoE feel. Thanks a lot for reminding me about RoE and the memories that I had with RoE. Btw, bit off-topic but have you played or watched any gameplay of Delta Force? I don't know why but something tells me that the RoE Devs are behind making Delta Force cause the gameplay kinda looks similar to RoE. And before RoE got shut down, the mod in Discord released a statement where he mentioned about Aurora Studio gonna make a new FPS game. Could Delta Force be that game?

Good but...I've seen a guy really into his scanning on here equate 35mm to approx 25MP and another guy really into his 54 mono equate a sheet of the same to the 100MP of a GFX.

I ditched medium format film when the canon 5d2 came out. It was so close back then, and you can see the shot in the moment which is priceless. I shot 6x9 film for a while, and still didnt miss it when FF got good. I cannot believe people are going to film for no apparent reason. They want to relive the struggle. My god, I wanted to get the shot, imagine that.

I live in northern Germany and worked as a scanner operator at the Hell Chromagraph 399, Linotype S3300 and a Crossfield drum scanner from the late 1980s to the mid-1990s. If one knows what he is doing, they produce top results. I didn't find the Tango so good. Probably because of the resolution limitation. It's been too long... The drum scanners were designed for an agency environment and print industry. They were optimised for C-Prints and slides. Negative film scans always looked like shit. That's why C-prints were usually made from negatives before they were scanned as prints. I wouldn't put up with these dinosaurs today. I was still in contact with former Hell engineers in Kiel until 2010, who thought that the market was too small to continue developing these devices. Today, 15 years later, these people have long since retired. With today's technology, scanners should actually be better and cheaper to construct. If the ‘film revival’ lasts longer, there will hopefully be a company that takes on the subject and provides us with excellent digitised 16-bit scans. I myself am going to rent a PhasOne camera with an IQ4 back and a repro lens and digitise some of my negatives. Drum scanning was a great time when scans were very well paid, but I wouldn't want to stand at a ‘lathe’ for so long anymore.

Got better results with Negmaster than with NLP…

I had 2 Howtek drumscanners and they where very very slow…. Unfortunately both technically broke down beyond repair and I switched to a Nikon Coolscan 9000 for my 35mm and MF film which are mainly transparencies. For 4x5 I use a Epson V750…… Quality is all good but still cumbersome…. I’m looking now to switch to a Fujifilm GFX setup to scan the films……

This is very fascinating. But don't we need to consider what you're doing with this film or digital image? A scanner has a maximum resolution. If we are looking at the photograph on a phone, computer screen or TV screen they all have a limited amount of resolution. Also printers have a limited resolution. Not to mention also the human eye only has a maximum amount of detail it can see. I bet the way film is scanned or photos are printed today the end result won't be any higher resolution than the digital camera images.

When anodizing, the first color you get it is the blue, then it turns more white/blue then to the copper. The longer you keep it in the flame the more copper/brass tones you’ll get. Try really controlled temperature next time to get the blues/purples.

Man, if you get a second one of these we HAVE to see what this thing looks like coming out of the cardboard! Then bring it back to the cardboard with a cardboard torture test. I have seen these utility blade go through hundreds of stacks of that stuff but I would like to see if this blade edges out the competition! I liked the montage at the end as well as the attention to detail. If this was sold by that canadian tech youtuber it would probably have a fidget mechanism embedded instead of a cool design! Anyways, I gotta go to bed now. Edit: I wrote utility gloves not utility blades, I have fixed this.
