This doesn’t look right, MyHeritage recently took a bunch of Bucharian 🧬 samples and compiled a database. With the update you should receive *Bucharian Jew* and at a high percentage.
This kit has not gotten the new update yet
It didn’t show bucharen jew.
These are the old results. There is Bukhara Jew in the new one.

Buhara used to be part of pershian Empire
Year 840 Bukhara and Samarkand became part of Kara-Khanid Khanate. A Karluk-Uzbek Khanate. Since then only Uzbek/Chagatai Turkic people ruled Samarkand and Bukhara. So no, it will never be again!

Bukharian Jews very rarely mixed with Uzbeks or other Central Asians. The 3.7% South Asian is likely misread Central Asian, but the majority of our DNA comes from West Asia.

This result cannot be universally applied to all Bukharian Jewish population! Because predominant west asian ratio shows that 1) this person's ancestors moved to Bukhara in the 17-18th centuries 2) Core nucleus of Bukharian Jewish people had been living in Central Asia fro more than 3000 years
Or maybe our ancestors didn't mix much with native Central Asians? you can search online for multiple results of Bukharian Jews from 23andme or AncestryDNA and all show majority West Asian/Middle Eastern with very little to no Central Asian. And even on youtube there are other Bukharians who shared their myheritage results and did not score much Central Asia.

How do we know what stands for "Central Asian" DNA? All contemporary dominant groups in Central Asia are actually the results of migration from Inner Asia. Thus, Uzbek or Kazakh DNA fails to be an example of Central Asia since they arrived Central Asia just a millennium ago. But Jewish population had been settled in Central Asia long before the arrival of current dominant groups in the region. Based on Persian roots, categorizing the result into West Asia is not accurate either, because actually Persians had arrived into iranian plateau from Central Asia in IX-VIII centuries BC.

What exactly does Semitic in regards to dna ? That’s a linguistic term not a genetic one. The vast majority of Jews have levant dna but they’re mixed with whatever populations they lived with in diaspora
