    Does the camera require external recorder ?

    • @noth606
      @noth606 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Practically speaking yes, like a Shogun Inferno or similar. It can record 1080 internally but crap format, 4k and RAW only externally, Sony has an external recorder for it but I've never seen anyone use it with that, everyone runs an Atomos, model depends on what you want exactly. The sensor on it is good, S35 4K Exmor, E-mount lenses are plentiful, but yeah the built in recorder is probably not something you want to use since it's big enough as-is that adding the Atomos doesn't make it much bigger.

    I’ve been there with a light that’s too bright as is. To overcome this you can use an ND filter to decrease your exposure, this will mean you have to turn up the other ambient lights or accent lights, but it’s always nice to have the option to stop down or have power to bounce or add layers of diffusion. I’m more often wishing I had more light v. having too much but in your use case I totally understand.

  • @fredericp.9593
    @fredericp.9593 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Hi, Nice video. I own this flapjack too and I confirm : 1% is much brighter than one percent. BUT, why did you make diaper diffusion ? Just use Lee filter or Rosco ND sheet 0.6 (2stops) or 0.9 (3 stops). I agree it's not ecological (waste of electricity) on the long run but a cheap efficient solution.

    I have this camera (love it!!). Did the update and bought a Atomos Ninja V+ to make it 4K. Hooked it up via HDMI and can’t make it record 4K. I looked into why and it only outputs to 4K through SDI output on the camera. How did you go about getting 4K into your Atomos??

    • @kamikaze1213
      @kamikaze1213 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I use the Atomos Shogun with mine which has the proper SDI connections. I also have an F55 with the R5 recorder, which can be used with the FS700 but needs the interface box, that will give you 16 bit RAW rather than the 10 bit from the Atomos.

      It's actually one I built myself with multiple parts. The screw hole for the camera is 1/4 20 rather than most Arri rosette camera handles. But the teeth of the arri handles line up perfectly with this camera. So I used an arri rosette handle but drilled out the hole for a lage hand cranked 1/4 20 screw to replace the previous screw that came with the original handle before my modifications.

Will i need to send the camera to Sony? Also ive heard that the internal codec of this camera is super compressed does that mean is not good ? Im new to film so not very good with terms. Thanks

    I have feeling that there was some kind of blur or softness. Don’t know if that’s the lens but I won’t say it’s image is sharp. I’m thinking hard about this camcorder but I’m afraid to switch from bmpcc 4K as I want system integrity for my pro work. It’s definitely different case for hobbyists and guys working for money on it. I need to add also monitor ninja v cost. This way u get price of decent black magic 4K that have everything inside and cheaper! Mounts than Sony lens does. In summary for pros - I’m not convinced too much. It’s more of “ah and ohs” than pro thinking which I totally get. Thanks anyway

    4:52 Pro-Tip: Just push the HOLD-Button in the direction of the arrow and you will never have the problem by pushing accidentially other buttons during recording. You can even specify in the settings which function the HOLD Button does for you. I accidentially pushed the IRIS-Push Button during recording and the picture became darker which was not intended by me. So, please activate this small button left to the battery release before starting the record and you are good to go. You will never ever have this issue again.

    The clip backwards thing I have done on purpose in music videos. A perfect zoom by manually setting up a close up ( exposure, focus, depth of fields etc.) then pull the camera backwards or pan away. When you reverse it, you end up with a shot where it all comes into focus and exposure etc. on a zoom. Really difficult to pull off without doing that effect. Especially the focus pull. Also, how about any low-cost lightbulbs with high CRI (to fit into a shop-light). Would 300 watts be about right?
