I really like the 510 Datsun, usually people build the 240z and thats kinda getting boring. I had a Datsun Sunny 120 GX coupe, an even rarer build on TH-cam. Wished someone would build a 510 Datsun all carbon, tube chassis for the drift track with a crazy engine setup. Best of luck on the restoration.

Looks like an interesting project. Your wire feed maybe a bit too low as the sound of the arc is spluttering. Try increasing wire feed speed until you can get a consistent frying bacon sound without the wire burning back to the tip. Should aim for some wire to remain poking out the tip when you release the trigger after a weld.

Yeah definitely need to turn it up to at least 80 amps..the weld sounds like it's struggling.

We had 2 Datsuns in late 70s early 80s. Worst bits, no AC, am radio only, and the reverse went out on both.

That 3rd grade, yea 3rd grade , the grade befort the 4th. Thats some sadd welding.
