Just Making It
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 27 ก.ค. 2023
Farm/Ranch in Northwest Pennsylvania. I grow crops such as corn, oats and a lot of hay. Calf/Cow operation with a herd size of about 80. If your just making hay or just growing corn “Just Making It “ could mean a lot of things such as the struggles farmers go through from time to time. My videos are to educate and entertain. Thanks for watching!

Those doors! 🤦♂️
Nice truck, comes in handy I'll bet for a lot of jobs.
Yes it does! Not really that hard on fuel. I’m going to be hauling a lot of gravel this year with it.
Whats the make & model of your no-till planter?
It's a new idea with kinze row unit which is a kinze 2000 double framed
I subscribed bc I want to see how good the corn comes up with no till
If I understand you correctly you are no till planting corn?
Correct!
It's pretty good for a modern day mower
Not to bad sometimes a belt comes off
@@RitzicRanch pulley issue
Your exactly right I pounded straight and welded it
Yep 💥 BOOM 💥
Should power off your machine before you stick your arm in it
Yes good catch!
That sucks
Kind of a crappy job .
Yea someone has to do it!
Rough riding crap
oh, oh ! someone has to rake...
She just keeps chopping lol
How can the tractor tell the unit isn't planting? Does the shaft have a sensor?
No, I believe that is plays off of the fill level of the planter. So I monitors each hoppers level and puts into a percent, if it senses one hopper not going down and the others are, it’ll give a warning. I’m just guessing, I don’t know anything about that.
I have a monitor on the tractor and since I have 4 units I have 4 lights. Each light indicates a unit. When the light stops flashing that means no corn is dropping, I have corn planting videos out part 1 and 2. Part 1 I show you how I hook monitor up and part 2 how it works.
Great pulling power tractor tonnes of torque
Yes
Combining rye is so much easier and enjoyable than oats. Looks like good yield
I tell you what I'm really impressed. Planting it in the fall and it beating the weeds in the spring is the way to go. Thanks for watching!
At least that the right color tractor
Lol as long as it runs good!
Oh absolutely
Oh absolutely
No till ? Do you do no till ? I ask because I do....and had huge issues with keeping the units in the ground.....or penetrate the soil. Not even close to enough down pressure ! In fact the planter drive wheels would come off of the ground. There is no way the units themselves have enough weight to penetrate ! So...I fixed a more heavy duty spring loaded culture up front on the bar where the fertilizer disc openers are . Then...I added another 300 pounds in lime bags to get enough weight to keep the drive wheels on the ground. Works 100% !!
What brand of planter do you have? My planter is a no till and it's double framed for adding extra units if I want. It's heavy with dual down pressure springs. Thanks for watching!
@@RitzicRanch I have a John Deere 7000 almost identical to youirs....except the extra wheels up front. But........the springs for down pressure arent even close to be enough to keep the unit itself in the ground ! Can plant in solid ground with no issues now. Even on a gravel road it still goes an inch deep on a dry road.
Red Power
Yep Going to try to get some plowing done soon. Did you plant any corn this year?
I remember those days of slinging bags. Nice video!
Thanks lol someday I might try liquid
Do what works for you 👍
Isn't the difference between 30 and 36 inch rows like guys in the locker room... The one with more inches wins 😁😁
It usually works the opposite for me. 3-4 cooperates and goes through and i chase 30 in a circle to get them through.🤣🤣
Yes I usually just let the cows get them later. I could wast hours chasing them. Hey good luck with the corn hopefully rain comes at the right times.
You lost two tires
Hey Matt, I came across your channel recently and after watching for a while I realized that I don’t live very far from you guys I don’t think, I’m over in West Hickory, we run Passauer Excavation. Lovin the content!

Nope they stay with the mothers till weaning time, around October
