Great video thanks for making this. It def isn't up to the same spec as an m1 but it's optimized for ableton only so that's all it has to do. I've been making live sets close to an hour long and haven't ran into any issues yet. Just sticking to 8 tracks as a max, 1-2 synths per song to play with the rest stems and the rest ableton fx. I've optimized it on my end by switching of synths that aren't in a given track and switching them on when needed using the chain selector method so only 8 tracks are played at anyone time at the same time . no issues yet. 🤞some tracks have groups so I'd say 12 tracks. Oh and 256 buffer and I can push it with crazy fx. 8 tracks is really all u need for a good live performance id say . At one point I did have lots of crackling and couldn't figure it out but noticed it was a max for live device. I got rid of it and it's fine now. But yeah the key is if u have 20 songs say. I limit my self to 8 tracks (push tracks) and go top down in my set so always within the 8x8 grid. Each time I change to a new song those live synths automatically switch off, so technically even with a huge set of 20 songs only 8 tracks can be playing at once. It's def a lot of back and forth between the laptop making sure the set is right before transferring it to push 3.

And the the only reason you can't crush a groove with one song and not the next is because of the compression and the EQ that you put on the groove.

You gotta remember it's groove box. You generate your MIDI. And Ableton 12. You warp marker. For samples, have you generated a sound? With MIDI. Then. Once you have it in the. Time slice. For each pad. You import it. To your push 3. Which allows you to play the time slice with a expression. You can also add your motion Then you save it and Exported back into Ableton and put it on follow. Once you've heard it. And arranged it. You consolidate and drag and drop. Or exporting separate stems. They should automatically be cut into glue. Now they'll fit together when you DJ. But only with that song. You can't crush the groove with another song.

Is it possible / have you tried to create a single instance of the plugin with a 16 track multi and individually route the plugin sound outputs to ableton audio tracks?

Great walkthrough! I’m not sure if anybody mentioned it but you can filter patch types on the load screen by moving the top right knob (it says feature by default on that page but lets you cycle through types like bass, pad, etc). Preset loading has been a pain for a while now. Just a huge unmanageable list (I had the desktop, now moving to the Core)

For Me it does not work.. can you give some more informations about all your settings? I actually try out updating firmware and search for settings.. in push stand-alone the faders don’t jump.. and many other issues

Very nice setup and helpful tips! I just got my first Virus this week; the TI2 D. Such a gorgeous, creamy sound. Love it! I've been using my IC MIDI 4+ as little more than an advanced midi router and merger, but this makes me want to give the audio routing capabilities another shot. I experienced some hickups the only time I've tried it, but maybe the clock or buffer settings were off. It's taken a while to get my head around it.

It’s kind of pricey for the way I use it, as a background and mostly as an oscillator. Worth every cent, though!

Yep, but the factory presets don’t do it justice imho. Will have to dig deeper into it.

If you also unpark all its cores (of your computer) and boost its CPU, you can add other instances of OsTIrus for e.g. bass and strings, and add some drums also!

I accidentally slid the SD card into my Iridium Keyboard in the first week. It’s very easy to do. Fortunately I was able to open the unit and retrieve it, but with the exposed contacts of micro-SD, I was pretty worried about it when it first dropped in. That aside - I love the Iridium. I got the keyboard because of the poly aftertouch. Otherwise the core or standard Iridium would have been fine.
