I have the TE-70 Paisley, the Tele version of this guitar, I have also upgraded it, CTS pots and waxed cotton wiring, the Fender pickups from my 1986 Fender Telecaster that I fitted with Texas Specials, a switchcraft switch, a middle Fender USA Strat pickup making it Nashville style and some Wilkinson locking tuners and locking strap buttons and a toggle switch that switches the bridge and middle pickup out of phase, I have a piece of highly figured crotch black walnut that I am going to cut a new pickguard from once it is down to about 8% moisture, I cut a pickguard from it last year but it cant have been fully dry as it warped and cracked really badly after about six months, I will cut the next one a little thicker also and reinforce it with a glued on piece of fileted white pickguard material making it 2 ply

Lovely looking guitar. I have an ST62 and swear by the guitar. All stock quite like the Roswell pickups no need to change. Re frets a few taps here and there and pretty much level. Quite unbelievable for the price. A tip I buy 4 sided fingernail buffing pads with 4 levels of grit from moderate to fine polishing frets to a shine

These glasses have one drawback - if you are recording you have to be careful where you look or you will get yourself into trouble! 😆

Just leave it together as is, with fine tuning on the setup, and dub it "Blockhead". No finish, just as is. Get a blockhead decal in Fender script and call it a day. Just my humble opinion. EDIT - posted this before watching part 3.

I had fun building a HB P Bass kit a couple years ago. Spent most of the time staining/sanding and finishing. I posted a short video at Rexomatic Records TH-cam. We just used the bass a couple weeks ago rehearsing some new songs. Enjoy the journey.

nice one, it came out really sweet ! sounds great too,, I have been thinking to build a kit for a while but wasn't sure what to get, this seems like its cheap and yet good,, i do a lot of crafting, I make knives and swords and have a blues band so this project would be fun,, also I really need more guitars !!

This is no build but an assembly.

The trem issue can maybe be fixed with a side shim in the neck, It seems that the neck have 1 mill. to move.

These kits are very cheap, so don't expect deluxe parts. The idea is that you do the finishing work and assembly as a fun and rewarding hobby.

Interesting guitar kit. How thick is that guitar body ? Is it the same as a Fender Stratocaster ? or as thin as a Squier Stratocaster ?

If your in the USA, there not worth buying with shipping costs, and distance traveled. I guess you can buy a used one . I'll stick to a good 100 watt modeling amp with bluetooth, and lot of channels so Ican create my owns tones(tube amps also),for practically the same cost as a Harley Benton.

You could use pickups with different characteristics for each pair of strings, could help with dynamics

Guitarists finally figure out all pick ups on is better. Next they will figure out pick ups dont pick up vibrations of the instrument and tone wood doesnt matter with electrics. The bassists have been waiting a long time for you to join reality.

so are the pickups wired to the tone pots like jazz bass wiring? I've had trouble using multiple volume controls before
