He is one of the best ever, way better than many who achieved greater fame. The three-sided album 'Second Winter' is one of the best I've ever heard, in any style of music.

This is was when Johnny was at his peak! Seeing him at the chance in Poughkeepsie NY was a religious experience. The sound of his slide guitar on Highway 61 was soul piercing

Johnny got me addicted to blues music in 1974 after i bought the album Johnny Winter And Live...been a huge fan ever since..and when i saw him in Sydney Australia in 1988 he was smoking..with those famous hot Johnny Winter licks! A true hero of mine ..RIP Johnny

I've been a Johnny Winters fan for 50 plus years. The first was at the Capitol theater in Jersey in around 77. The last time was just before he passed 😭 he played at the Mayo theater along with Leslie West.TWO GREÀTS!!! R.I.P.

I saw Johnny 4 times. The second time I saw him some jerk threw a bottle at him. Like a pro Johnny finished the song. Then he said " I hope whoever threw that dies of syphilis and the drizzling s***s." Security couldn't get to the guy fast enough to save him from Johnny's loyal fans. They hurt the guy. Really. On with the show!

I saw them for maybe 5 consecutive shows in New England in 78 and there was not one sour note. They sound so perfect together.
