It always got me about 'The Fly' that they had to cover such a beautiful face, God Bless David such a great actor.❤
In 2014 I was providing security for the Miami Vice Cast at "The Hollywood Show" at the Westin LAX. Hedison walked in the room before the show had started. Well into his 80's he looked great and was smiling and saying hello to everyone. One of the Vice cast members commented, "That my friends is what a movie star looks like."
89 yrs old and sharp as a Whip!
How beautiful Ms. Hughes remains!! One of my favorite films, IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE"!! even though her part was small she remained BIG in it!! Long live Ms. Hughes!!! Nicholas K.
Thank you David hedison for all the pleasure you gave to all of us a really nice guy I watch voyage to the bottom of the sea all the time thank you again David
Me to Peter! Especially gunsmoke
What a great interview ! Mr Rode is an immensely talented interviewer. Loved watching "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" as a kid in the 60s. The late great Mr Hedison had such a wonderful sense of humor ! Bless his heart ! :-)

"Damage Control Report!"
Being a boomer I remember the original fly movie .it's a classic and I still think it's the best version .and of course it had that classic iconic line: help me help me. Interesting comment about him never seen Vincent Price what most people don't know maybe they do is that when shows are being shot you come on do your scene and leave it's not like everybody is on the set all at the same time. so you may never see another person that is part of the show .I recently listened to a comment from an actress who was in a show 40 years ago and she suddenly realized that that another character had a nickname yet she never knew it even though they were both in the show for many episodes--but they never had any scenes together.
I was lucky enough to meet him 3 times here in the UK. A really nice chap in person. The last time we met, I had my 5 year old son with me, who was a big fan. He seemed to enjoy chatting with him, signed a personalised photo and posed for a picture with him shaking my son's hand.
Thank you so much for sharing that wonderfully heartwarming memory with us ! It's always great to hear that our favorite stars are nice people off screen ! :-)
He died a month after my dad.
Strange seeing him old. Growing up, he seemed ageless.
Alan.. I also met Rico Browning who did the swimming scenes of the creature of the Black Lagoon back at Wonderfest in Louisville, KY back around 2004.
Alan.. I met David Hedison around 2004 at a Wonderfest Sci Fi convention where my son molded and sculpted and sold his Dinosaurs. I almost did not recognize him. He had the Amish beard, He also was much shorter than I had imagined, I do know he attended Brown University so could not have been a dummy. I was not aware he passed away.
Born in 1927, he’s almost 89 here. Thank you for letting us see this great interview and hear him tell these wonderful stories.
This was recorded a week before Charles Herbert died, who played the son of Hedison's character in the fly!
Neat lady!
From Brazil. (Saudades),Fizeram parte da minha infância. (Deus o tenha).
David passed away at 92 on July, 18, 2019. Always admired David as well as Richard Basehart, I was in elementary school when Voyage was on TV. It was magic back then. The cast, the special effects, the Seaview, the flying sub (FS1), diving bell, mini sub, the music, intro and credits, etc. David, Richard, Robert, Del, Terry all great! I remember watching David in The Enemy Below, The Fly, The Lost World, James Bond, etc. What a great actor, his easy, calm demeanor. RIP David!

rip david hedison☹️
David brings back lots of mems....great actors he and Vincent Price.
What a lovely man
DAVID SE QUITA LOS LENTES Y LA BARBA Y SE TIÑE SE VERIA IGUAL QUE EN LA SERIE DE LOS 60.
Great to see her again. Very nice interview........
He looks better now than he did then.
DAVID HEDISON COOLEST DUDE FROM 1960's T.V. SHOWS MY MOM HAD A CRUSH ON HIM.
I have a morbid curiosity to see who is still alive from old movies, imagine my surprise ! Lol..just paused watching the DVD, to watch this !..helppp!!...help meeee !!!
That help me scene made The Fly a movie monster in the box office.
David Hedison a class act, when I was in grammar school during the 1960's I lived for Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea, And Not Doing My Homework !!! It's nice to still have David around to tell us all about his life and acting career... And all the memories he gave me and so many others that made it great to be an imaginative kid growing up during the 1960's .
Here Here ! wonderful memories of that great series. The cast was perfect.
@@robharding4028 You hit it right on the head. From the top of the cast from Richard Basehart & David Hedison all the way down the lineup of supporting actors with the limited budget props & technology that Irwin Allen used and recycled in all of his 1960's TV series were campy. The acting on Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea made the program for its time convincing & realistic. (Perfect !!)
@@franktheo2055 Absolutely perfect , Well I believed it,
SHE BOUGHT CLASS & BEAUTY TO THAT MOVIE !
David Hedison, even outlived Charles Herbert, (1948-2015: 66yrs) the child actor who played his son.
Sigue estando estupendo , mi queridísimo , admirado David Hedison.Sigo enamorada de ti.
Para mi , siempre estarás presente .I love too much , captain Lee Crane.
