      Hi there, sorry for the late reply. If you're referring to the lap counting, its a free Android software called LapTrax. You can install it to a mobile or tablet. My suggestion is to install it to a mobile phone (then place it somewhere on the track to capture the cars) and use a tablet to mirror the screen so that you do not need to keep touching the phone. For this video, I'm using a Raspberry Pi with Android installed and using it with the Pi camera. Another option is to use an Android TV box that can connect a USB camera. Just in case its about the track, its using a Yoga Mat and the curbs are 3D printed. Hope this answer your question.

    Hi very nice work, I currently have the plan to implement a custom steering wheel with buttons and dash board powered from simhub via Bluettoth. I saw you shared information about how to feed data to a LCD screen via bluetooth. Can you also share information about how you do for the buttons ? you use the "Arduino" feature from simhub or you sticked to the custom serial device ?

    • @simplyatomic

      Hi, sorry for the late reply and thanks! Yes, I did use the "Arduino" feature from SimHub for an initial button box build using an Arduino Pro Micro connected via USB (something like th-cam.com/video/BlItglAxh5E/w-d-xo.html). I then ported it to ESP32 which then no longer use the SimHub "Arduino" feature. The custom serial device was used for the screen to get the data.

      Hi, have not tried pulling off just the wheel. But @renekatuin posted that he deep clean and lube the front axle by removing the wheel. He also posted a video on how he did it ( th-cam.com/video/0H2iGrXXu8k/w-d-xo.html ) . Btw, this was for the older model not the C72, but I guess it should be identical.

When you want to put back the front wheels you need a tiny bit a metal to put it inside the front and push the axel then push back the wheel. Lot's of dust and tiny hairs, now my car run like a charm again. I wonder if i can 3d print some wheels to make it drift like the c64 but without any gyro. Gonna try this week if i got some time.

    • @simplyatomic
      @simplyatomic ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like battery issue. If you don't use it for a long time, and the battery is left uncharged, it might drop too low causing the battery to fail. Try charging it awhile on a USB charger, sometimes this might "wake" it up. But be sure not to leave it unattended when its charging!

    I am working on a similar project and what you have done is exactly what I am trying to do. My problem is that when the game starts running, apparently simhub doesn't deliver the values to my ESP32 like it does when the game isn't running so the scanrate or FPS drops from 60hz to a poor 2hz or 3hz. Have you had this problem? Can you tell me how you turned out?

    • @simplyatomic
      @simplyatomic 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      When a game is not running, no data will be sent to the ESP32. Either start a game or use a replay to get the data, my suggestion is to use replay as it's easier to trace and troubleshoot. If there is still no data, check the COM port, I did encounter this and need to change the port but this only happens when testing the codes probably due the frequent restarting of SimHub. Also in order to get 60 fps, you'll need a license for SimHub.

    Thank You for making and upload this video. I struggled with one of my cars, actually the same color as the one in this video, so I had to disassemble it. And I really should now better. Of course I messed up and ended up with a some small pieces I did not now where or how to fit. Luckily I had seen Your video, and I watch it several times again. I did not notice the small springs when disassembling so they were both gone. I found one stuck on the magnet beside the motor but the other was missing, but luck was on my side so I found it on the floor. And now the little fellows back on the track thanks to Your video.
