Tomoya Moriura

I am a non-professional pianist in Japan. I like finding rarely known but good classical music in the romantic era and early 20th century. Here are my videos on my piano-playing music. I hope you enjoy yourself :)

This is an interesting piece. How can I obtain the score formal for of these Homages?

Wonderful little great music
Thank you for your comment. This piece has a personal attachment to me, so I am glad to receive such a wonderful comment.
The transition from Db major back to F Major was so simple yet so so beautiful! And your playing is gorgeous as always, I really enjoy the warmth of your musical touch and the piano itself.
Thank you for your warm comments.Although my playing is still a work in progress, I hope that I have been able to provide pleasant music by surrendering myself to this simple, beautiful, and natural music.
Gorgeous arrangement! Thank you
Thanks!!! I'll post new recordings. Please give me your support.
A very somber autumnal tune. I can feel the leaves flurrying! Thank you for finding this beautiful piece.
I am glad you liked it! I will continue to release new recordings and appreciate your support.
What a hauntingly simple yet gorgeous piece. Wow.
I think he was a really talented composer. The variety of lyricism shown in this simple piece is worth a listen.
この曲大好きなの。こんな編曲があったとは。いつか私も弾いてみます。ありがとうございます!
僕も偶然発見したんですが、元から良い曲に良い編曲者が良い仕事をしています。是非弾いてみてください!
What a stunning piece
I agree. I would like more people to know about this kind of work.
Thanks! Mysterious forest indeed, a first walk among chromatics paths, them whole tones, and for the return a nice mix of those. Debussiesque! The chromatics triads in the first piece is tricky, probably more safe to play two notes in each hand imho.
Thanks again for your comments. As you pointed out, the whole-tone scale is used throughout this collection. I was also thinking of a landscape like Debussy when I played it. As for the three chords you pointed out, I handled all three chords with my right hand as per the score. I regret now that I should have taken the help of the left hand.
@@tomoyamoriura6809 It's a good exercise though, I often, as a technical game, make a dissonant 4 notes chord - or a jazzy one - and make it move chromatically as precisely and fast as possible.
sublime
Thank you for your listening! This work is mysterious. It may have been avant-garde among Brazilian works of the time, but it is full of new charm.
Thanks 森裏さん!Just be more careful with accidental alteration, like bar 6 last F should still be sharp, otherwise you keep bringing very fresh and interesting pieces, thanks for that.
Thank you for your advice. I myself would like to make it more complete. I find this collection in particular very sensitive and full of new charm. Thank you for listening!
damm that piece is dense
This piece is dense in nature as it was written in Brahms' final years, and it is even more technical because of Busoni's arrangement. It is one of the most difficult pieces in the collection.
@@tomoyamoriura6809 4 different voices, this is insanity. I'm glad someone learned it and recorded it for our enjoyment.
I tackled this piece because I wanted to learn about Brahms's work in his later years. I had no idea that his works were so complex and polyphonic, but it was a good learning experience.
@@tomoyamoriura6809 I'm as pleasantly surprised as you are. There are so much music out there, it's a matter of sheer luck sometimes to be able to find it.
Bravo! Thank you for introducing me to new music all the time. Youre playing is magnificent!
Thank you for listening! I will try my best to continue to introduce you to fascinating works of art in the future.
Lindo!!!Não conhecia esta peça!Obrigada por compartilhar!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Obrigado por ver o vídeo! Ficamos contentes por ter gostado.
Bravo nice play, I totally like that Hiraishi piece! What else did you played during that concert?
Since the concert was limited to 10 minutes per person, we were not able to perform any other pieces. I will also publish such videos as soon as I have the opportunity.

A very beautiful etude! Beautifully played! 👌😊💐
I hope you can feel the freshness of the fountain. I am glad that you enjoyed listening to this small, salon-style piece.
A really beautiful piece by Rowley! Great playing, bravo!!! 👏👏👏👏💐🙏😊
Thank you for your comment!! Alec Rowley has other interesting works that I would like to share with you as well. Thank you for your continued support.
What a lovely piece! Thanks for sharing
Thank you for taking the time to comment. I am glad you liked it.
Bravo!👏👏👏👏
thanks!!!
Could you possibly do the Op. 10 Mazurka of Blumenfeld as well? It would compliment this perfectly!
His Op.10 Mazurka is written for orchestra. It is not a solo piano piece. Also, since I do not have the score at hand, I cannot imagine what kind of music it is.
I just love the harmony in Mayerl's pieces. So many fourths and extensions. I also appreciate how he doesn't avoid the minor ninth interval.
His harmony seems to have been quite rare at the time. I feel that more attention should be paid to his creative skills, which have not faded away even today.
Beautiful obsessive sequences throughout. I'm sold. ❤
I am glad you liked it. I will continue to showcase these pieces on an ongoing basis.
the master of solfeo is a mediocre compositor; the solfeo is useless
It is perhaps a miracle that he, as a master of solfeo , left other works besides solfeo. We are sure that learning about his works will provide us with new insights. Even if he had no talent, knowing his compositional technique is enough new information for those who research him.
Thanks for sharing !✨
Thank you for your comment. Please continue to support me.

Sorry if my japanese is bad...😅 Anyway thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your comments. I am truly sorry to hear that there are problems with your performance. It is largely due to my own lack of skill that I am unable to properly convey such a valuable work. I will continue to contribute recordings, but I will continue to challenge myself to improve my technique even further.
@@tomoyamoriura6809 Oh no I don't mean that at all...! It's not about musical performance, but just about precision. I also record pieces so I can relate to that kind of work, for exemple last week I had to record the entire Danube Bleu for ballet dancers. I couldn't record the entire thing flawlessly in one take since it's quiet long (about five minutes), so I recorded the piece part by part, and with audacity join them together. Secondly, I don't really mind about a flawlessly performance, I subscribed to your channel because I love discovering piano pieces or even composers I didn't know about, and in that regard, thank you so much. 😊 And finaly, by reading your response, I understand one of your goal with your channel is to improve your own skills by playing a lot of pieces, so... がんばって ✌️
Thank you for playing such music. We must remember these people and their work.
I agree. He was truly creative in his activities. I consider it a heavy task to pass on his trajectory to future generations.
It reminds me a Little bit of her "Theme variè"
I love Thème varié. It is my favorite work of hers because of the freedom and loveliness it contains. It is similar in some ways, but the structure is simpler. I would like to play Thème varié as well.
I’m liking the Chorale-Preludes
Thank you. I have already recorded all of the Brahms-Busoni chorale preludes. They will be available shortly, so please look forward to them.
Hermosos preludios! Muy bueno!
Gracias por todos sus comentarios. Espero poder seguir presentando obras que os gusten.
Nice recording, good to see people playing Chisholm
I find Chisholm performance recordings rare. I plan to release more rare recordings in the future. Please come back to listen in the future if you like!
@@tomoyamoriura6809 Yes indeed Chisholm's recordings are rare, I did play Chisholm's "Viewed from a Starpoint" for my channel and was surprised to see that its the only recording of the piece on the internet. If you do plan to release more recordings for the future, will you be interested for a collaboration?? I do have some of Chisholm's score videos on my channel.
I have checked your TH-cam channel. I did find several videos of Chisholm and those are the only sound sources that can be found on TH-cam. I am open to collaborating. If there is anything I can do to help, please let me do it!
@@tomoyamoriura6809 Yes it is quite unfortunate that there are no sources of Chisholm's music online. Even the IMSLP page and the scores on it didn't exist until a few months ago, which was made by myself. If you have any Chisholm's scores or recordings then please let me know. We could discuss this over email.
I performed and recorded using the IMSLP sheet music you shared for us. I do not own any Chisholm sheet music other than what you have shared with IMSLP. I also do not have a sound source. However, I am available to perform as long as you have the sheet music. If you have new scores other than the ones you have shared with IMSLP, I may be able to contribute to your wish by sending them to me by e-mail.
Amazing. Where can I find the sheets for this beautiful music?

@@tomoyamoriura6809 beautiful performance. thank you so much! will start studying soon!
really inaccurate performance
Playing without mistakes is a challenge for all pianists.I, like many others, struggle with this challenge.
@@tomoyamoriura6809 sorry, the Internet has warped my expectations of pianism because of the abundance of recordings from professionals. I couldn’t help but point out these mistakes because it’s uncommon for me to hear a recording with this many
When I thought about what I could do as an amateur in a world full of professional performances, I felt that what I could do was to introduce fascinating works for which recordings do not exist. I will continue to post videos toward that goal. Needless to say, a mistake-free performance is still the most ideal, and that is what I continue to strive for.
@@tomoyamoriura6809 Well, in one way don't sweat it, and in another keep at it.
Shouldn't it be a single note and then the lower parts at 0:17? Cool piece. Also (0:38) the top note is wrong.
I am aware that I am making mistakes, but I am still very eager to bring this wonderful group of works to you.
@@tomoyamoriura6809 Unless you're in quite a rush, btw, it isn't so much a matter of trying very hard but merely proofreading at some stage in your upload process.
This may be due to my insistence on posting videos every day. I have been struggling with that part of my life. I need some time to think about it.
It’s very cool. Does it really have to be played so very staccato at the start based on notation or is that a very personal interpretation?
I include my own interpretation of staccato to some extent in my performance. It is to create a free-spirited atmosphere. I think it sounds more humorous and free.
I think I will start Musescore and rewrite it in E major with proper accidentals...
Your point may be a valid one. However, similar occurrences can be found in many of Dobrowen's works. It is possible that this was done with an agenda.
Bellísimo!
Gracias. Que esta triste pieza musical sea un maravilloso encuentro para ti.
I feel as if the slight delay of the right hand makes the music sound more rhythmically busy than I would like
I prefer Michelangeli's performance. One of the characteristics of his playing is that the rhythm swings with both hands, which I find comforting. However, when I try to imitate it, some people may find it incomplete.
That’s charming!
Thanks much!
Solitude is not the same thing as loneliness. Loneliness is a desire for company other than that of your own. Solitude is the preference at some point in time for just your own company.
What is depicted in this work is solitude, not so much a craving for companionship, but rather a description of the state of solitude itself. I feel that solitude was not only a source of despair for him, but also the starting point of his creativity.
This is very beautiful. I have never heard of this composer before.1200 piano compositions? I need to talk to a geologist to determine which rock I have been living under for the last 50 odd years!
He seems to have really composed as many as 1,200 works. I hope you will read to the references. I think it is due to the improvisational nature of his music that he was able to devote so much energy to composing in just 50 years of his life. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean_Louis_Gobbaerts
