I saw another video of yours but can't comment there: th-cam.com/video/NsqASqp3Ias/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared We have a Chevy Silverado 2500, a 28ft travel trailer, and a Honda Pioneer 700-4 UTV. We want to tow our trailer with the UTV in the bed. At this time we've only hauled the UTV in the bed and have not done a test fit yet with the trailer. We purchased a Curt Long Shank Hitch Extension and DG Tailgate Supports and will tow with weight distribution bars. We are worried we'll ruin our truck with the tailgate down on the power jack when we turn sharp. Do you have any suggestion or a follow up video? Here's what we look like with the Pioneer in the bed (we didnt have tailgate supports at the time but luckily the cables were strong and new!..wont do that again!): th-cam.com/users/shortsGe1JlGA0Gco?si=fFx3hU_IioYSYCKP I've seen some videos of people removing the jack and putting it back on when needed. Hello, search you tube the jack-e-up and you can remove the power jack each time. I have one I don’t use anymore. We down sized. But, looking back I would just remove the 3 bolts and remove my jack each time. It’s easy and about as quick as the jack-e-up too. Just saying.. 3 bolts out when you hook up and 3 to install when you setup. I hope this helps and good luck!
You can turn the jack. you have to use a thread maker. videos on you tube.
Fixed mine in 10 minutes
I will try that. I have like a buzzing sound when I hit certain bumps but it sounds like it comes more from the left front part of the left side of the dash but I tightened up all of the bolts and placed foam tape everywhere I thought it might be coming from.
How much does your camper weigh?...trying to do a similar set up for my truck

I'm wandering how much weight the tailgate will carry? I'm thinking on doing the same thing except using the tailgate supports instead of relying on the cables.
I would think a few hundred lbs. All the weight is still on the cable, but the yellow tailgate support bars are there incase the cables break.

I paid $65 bucks for the "Jack-E-up" it worked well for us. No problems. Sold the trailer and now selling it. Let me know if you are interested in it, I would make you a deal.

Like $40ish for that item. I actually have the entire set up, including tailgate supports, my 18 inch shank for my weight distribution hitch and the Jackie-e-up. The shank gives you an extra 6 inch’s too. I gain 10 inches of separation between the end of the tailgate and my trailer. I still took off the propane covers but didn’t really need to.

1,400lbs payload on my truck. payload= driver 200lbs. hitch weight 350lbs (weight distribution hitch) golf cart 650 lbs. club car is all aluminum and all gear is in trailer. With 200 lbs to spare on my payload. I did install airbags from airlift co., To help with squat of the coils. I would drive it through the Grand Canyon all day long, with one arm out the window and one on the wheel. Like a dream...
Trailer is only 5,870 lbs too. It’s very light.
@@garyesmar10 either your numbers are false or you're guessing, your tongue weight should be between 587 lbs and 880.5 lbs weight on a trailer of that weight, so for it to be 350lbs would mean you have a lot of weight in the back of the camper which leads to unsafe conditions. Take it to a CAT scale and weigh it properly.
Thanks for your concerns, but my weight distribution hitch cuts the hitch weight in 1/2 and it’s as safe as ever. Cheers! We will be pulling all year nation wide with no problems. Oh yeah, I still have 200 lbs to spare. Yee yee!
