Why turn them into killer animatronics? Because by modern design standards, yeah these guys do look creepy. Well, at first glance. I find the song very catchy and the show decent. I never watched it myself because I was born in the late 2000s, so I never got to see this aired. I do remember however hearing the theme song on the boomerang-a-long a couple of times. Good times. Not the biggest experience, but it counts. :)
Today's society is ruining and destorying our childhood by making our beloved childhood idols into murdering monsters, first it's this, and now Winnie the Pooh, where will they go next, Sesame Street?
So, this show was a cross between Laugh-in, Barney, and the Three Stooges? One of the characters had Tigger's voice? I'm watching in for the first time at 35. Would've loved it as a kid 😂
when I was like 6 years old, so like 1994), they replayed this on the cartoon network and I loved it. I think I was the only kid in my kindergarten class in the 90s who really liked this show lol
Tra, La, La, La, Tra, La, La, La. The Banana Splits Show opening & closing theme. That's what kids need to listen to, not this rap crap that ever rap song that talks about sex & gun violence & they don't use their biological birth names instead calling themselves like Da Brat & sometimes Bank Roll. Those names are so very stupid. That goes to show everyone that they are probably ashamed of their biological birth names. Tiffany Deaton
And also where the show has no gun violence or violence @ all, no ass naked sluts or gangsters that wear their pants to the floor, they wear belts, but don't use the belt properly. Just a family, friendly, show that is fun to watch, rated G & parent approved. This cartoon show, Banana Splits was the best loved cartoon show ever. Fleegle, Bingo, Dropper & Snorky we're the cutest names for the show's mascots & the name for the band named after an ice cream, banana splits was a perfectly fine & dandy name for their band & it being filmed sometimes @ Coney Island & sometimes @ Six Flags over Texas was fun places to film the show. Tiffany Deaton
IT IS A SHAME THAT THEY HAVE TRANSFORMED AN ICONIC CHILDREN'S SERIES IN ITS TIME, INTO A HORROR MOVIE, THAT SUCH TWISTED MINDS SEEM LIKE THEY NEVER HAD A CHILDHOOD!!!!
With both The Flintstones & The Powerpuff Girls (1998) back on Boomerang, this & The Pink Panther (1960s animated theatrical shorts) should be next to return to the channel.
that show is way better than the movie
Holy Crap! Look at the closing credits. It says the Danger Island theme park sequences were directed by RICHARD DONNER!
Pure magic, still makes me smile!
Remember watching these when I was a young kid. These are cartoons.

When I was a little kid in the early 2000s, I saw this show on boomerang. As shown in this video. Those were the days of actually good cartoons.
Today's society is ruining and destorying our childhood by making our beloved childhood idols into murdering monsters, first it's this, and now Winnie the Pooh, where will they go next, Sesame Street?
I think DHMIS already did that..
I loved this show when I was a kid and I can still watch it now and smile and laugh . I’m so thankful I got to be a kid in the 60’s and 70’s……👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I came here because I STILL have that song in my head! :)
I'm as Berklee College of Music graduate and i cite the Banana Splits as my main influence.
Sid & Marty Kroft must have been on some crazy shit to dream all these characters up
Well choreography on kids show, especially when these actors have to do funny action and stunts with animals costumes.
I really love puppy is so cute ❤

Reply to this comment with your favourite Banana Splits character. Mine’s Drooper
I swear the writers for kids shows then were all doing LSD! This show and H.R. Puff N'Stuff are prime examples!
*Bob Marley* approved of this music

True the woman who did this needs a serious ass whuppin
This show looks so cool I wonder why they stopped making it.
I remember watching this on Boomerang back in the day.
Coño... que recuerdos... vi este capitulo en 1969.. tenia yo 5 años... actualmente tengo 59 años... Caracas, Venezuela.
i wonder if that guy with big teeth was supposed to be a caricature of John Kay of steppenwolf fame
I'm fifty five years old, and I still sing along with this every single time I hear it.
Being a boomerang kid in the late 2000s/early 2010s had perks like these
Saw them on Channel 56 Boston early 1980's, weekday afternoons. Anyone else?
this level of silliness is what we all need right now. Bring it back!
Sure do not make shows like this anymore! Creativity and imagination no longer exist in shows today.

Even as a kid I somehow knew these were adults wearing suits and found it unnerving. Ironically I was fine with Sigmund the sea monster
Uk version Rob Rackstraw as Bingo and Drooper Martin Clunes as Fleegle Don Messick as Snorky (Uncredited in the UK)
