Ge refrigerator not cooling in the fresh food section. Evaporator fan motor replacement

today we find a GE refrigerator that is not cooling well in the fresh foods section. I diagnosed it as a bad evaporator fan motor. I go through the basics of how to take it apart and replace that fan, which is one of the more common issues on that newer GE french door refrigerator. The part number we changed is wr60x26866 The model number was a pye22kskbss

I have that bearing and seal tool for $50. Just go to Craigslist Houston and type in: Whirlpool washer: seal and bearing installation tool set. Shipping and handling not included. I'll let you know how much and include it in the price.
Bad, bad, You do not use pliers or a wrench like that on the shaft, you just shredded it down..
Lol I've been fixing appliances since I was 13. I know what I'm doing thanks though I've got 12 years experience. This washer was fixed when I was done btw. If you knew better than me you wouldn't be watching this
Thanks for the helpful video. The only question I had was with direction of the spring on the rubber gasket. It was answered easily by looking on the old shaft though. Thanks again for posting this video. 👍👍!!!

Hello Chris. Good video. When I knocked out the top bearing it broke leaving the outer casing of the bearing left in the tub. I was able to cut it with a dremmel and chisel it out, but the little metal washer with the tabs on it that stays in the tub is a little damaged. Should I build up the damaged part with JBweld or something and make flush with the dremmel? Or does it really matter since it's pressed in? Thanks for your help
i would definitely smooth over any burs with sand paper or dremmel otherwise the bearing with sqeek in high speed spin
Thanks for your quick reply. The outer casing of the bearing is what is pressed agains the inner wall of the tub(which is where the damage is) and that shouldn't move though right? I'm not doubting you, I just don't see where the squeak would come from.
any burs, rust, debris in between the bearing outer case and tub sleeve with make the outer bearing deform and it will make a whining noise. I've tried skipping it and had to do the job again for free. make it nice and smooth and clean or you'll regret it

soak in wd40 and put the machine in diagnostics and turn the washer into spin and hold the tub and let the inner shaft spin
Hi Chris, it the tub is stuck to the corroded drive shaft- any tips on getting this loose since corrosion is covered by the basket itself? I have tried pb blaster and a hammer to no avail...
