What about when the union represent two separate factions do both factions have to agree to desertification?

I understand why people don’t like unions . But in my work place it has really been beneficial. We’re in the talks in decertifying and switching Union.

The game of the unions is to get more customers to pay their fees under the guise that they are helping big bad corporations. While in some professions it helps, it most likely won’t if you are specialized like me. I am a nurse but in a sub specialty that required education or certification with experience prior to getting hired. That means I pursued educated - lots of blood sweat years and $. I fortunately was hired pre-union. Now the union slashed our benefits : 401k, life insurance and yes even medical insurance in exchange for a few dollars raise - that we have to pay in fees anyway. Worse they decimated our job description and qualifications to get our job which opened the flood gates for any inexperienced or uneducated nurse to come in- I’m talking about they didn’t even need to try to get any certifications or education just needed seniority. Great idea for a business (yup unions are businesses themselves) who’s model is to get more customers right- elevated the majority - new customer that are pro unions and paying fees - and they did so it quickly to convert our department into majority pro union. Meanwhile my colleagues and I are forced to teach nurses that bury us in seniority (they get better schedules, vacation) than the most senior specialist?? They will get fast tracked to get payed more since they know union hoops. I gave up the fight against them. But if your in this position one thing you can do is check the box to not pay them more due to political reasons. And I’ll look into decertification but sounds arduous 😥 communism never ends well.

I'm glad he starts off with "treat your employees well" and that's basically it imo. Even so, when a company treats their employees well, it's still on the owner's terms, not on the worker's terms. If you, as an employee want to have more leverage and a better way of representing you and your colleagues, unions are the way. In many European countries they already know this, and that's why they generally have higher minimum wages and benefits (sometimes gained by legislation because of union pressure, sometimes directly through union power (without the state being involved)) This is probably going to be deleted on this channel but I don't care. Unions are based!!

I work in the healthcare system. For more than a year my department has mandated me and my co workers consistently every pay period more than 7x. We all have to get mandated at least three to four times in a row before we can only do one shift and go home. Once we get one day off of overtime the follow day you more than likely will be getting mandated in a row again. I’ve been on both sides of the field in healthcare as a manger and a union member. I couldn’t be more surprised and how this particular hospital can get away with the abuse to their employees. I see how myself and my fellow coworkers can barely stay up during shift. The morale in my department is so down everyone seem to want to quiet. I want to quiet lol but the benefits and pension is very important to us all for our family’s. I would love to get your feedback on this and what we all should consider doing about it. I know N.Y labor laws allow this kinda of employer to mandated as much as they want but something needs to be done. The abuse is real. A lot of us even get mandated at the end of shift with no notice of mandatory overtime at least an hr or two before the end of shift just not right.

keep coaching the employers ... and the civil unrest will continue to get worse and worse and worse. and eventually, the money the employers have gained from the common worker won't be able to be enjoyed in public. It is getting close...

Hand out baseball caps, cheap sporting event tickets, take the employees to go kart tracks to team build , have managers cook barbecues , and here is the silver bullet. If there is a Union threat, hold avoidance meetings and at the conclusion, make bracelets saying the name of your Company and " Strong " ... after it in the Company ...available for those who wish to show their loyalty. People will run up and put them on, then you can identify who is pro and anti. It worked to a tee at fed ex freight.

I did delete the post. Your statement is inaccurate. That job was handled by a company out of Indiana. Without insulting you, I respectfully urge you to do your homework. Everytime consulting firms are involved with union campaigns they have to file forms with the Department of Labor. It took me 5 minutes to find the form and the firm that handled the Argosy Casino job. I would suggest you do the same. Just navigate the DOL site. You will find it.
