    Thanks so much for this video! I'm thinking of ordering the Costco garlands but they are a bit thicker and bushier than I'd like - do you think they could be easily pulled apart into a few thinner garlands for long table runners?

      Hi Gabriela, from what I remembered I don't think that will be easy. I remember that they're all tightly tied and wound together.

    Hi! Thank you SO much for this video. It is incredibly helpful! I am also getting my bouquet from H‑E‑B but there quote for table arrangements was a little to much for my budget. The tables at my venue are circle... do you think I can cut the 6 ft strands in half with sharp garden shears and zip tie them into circles? I am worried the strands may not bend well into a circle shape? I am looking forward to hearing your advice! I know Costco sells circle ones but they only have a 3.5” hole for a candle and I have a bigger candle arrangement from my venue

    • @thriftelixir9312
      @thriftelixir9312 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Amanda! Unfortunately, the garlands are made of branches, not vines, so you won't be able to mold them into circles. I didn't realize the Costco ones were that small.... You might also consider getting fake ones. They make a lot of very realistic-looking ones at Hobby Lobby/Michaels. I had circular candle arrangements which I paid the venue for in the center of my round tables, too. I bought two orders of Costco flower petals and had them scattered all around the centerpieces. It was a very cost-effective way of making the centerpieces look lush and romantic, but kept costs down. ;)

    When you say trim the flowers did you cut the stems so she just had to pop them in, or did you keep them in water and she cut them off when creating the look? May I ask what you spent on your wedding party flowers from the grocery florist? I'm probably going to do our sweetheart table and cake flowers, but I have a florist currently for wedding party and centerpieces. You are correct. Not cheap!

    • @thriftelixir9312
      @thriftelixir9312 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Gina, I cut the stems, put them into water in a bucket, then brought the bucket of flowers to the coordinator. I gave the florist a $1200 budget, which includes two large ceremony arrangements and an sign-in table arrangement. I had my baker who makes reeeeeeeeeally pretty sugar flowers do that instead of dealing with the hassle of getting fresh flowers to the baker. It might be worth looking into. Thanks for watching!

    • @thriftelixir9312
      @thriftelixir9312 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Tricia, thanks for your comment. All the candles and candle holders including their sizes and prices are listed in the description. The candle holders were basically placed alternating between sizes on the table and integrated into the garland. I didn't mention this, but all the candle holders on the mantle that are the mercury-glass-types are actually from TJ Maxx, and they were $5 each :). Good luck with your planning.
