How To Remove Leaf Springs
มุมมอง 24K2 ปีที่แล้ว
I recently discovered that you can remove leafs out of the entire leaf spring stack up to make the suspension softer. This truck NEEDED this. The rear end was entirely too stiff and bouncy. It also lowered the rear end about an inch or so, which was definitely needed.

Turbo Has Exited The Chat👎///R30 vr6 Engine Assy. pt1
มุมมอง 5062 ปีที่แล้ว
Found out why the jetta quit making boost. Isnt great but could have been a whole lot worse. Also I finally got around to assembling the Datsun truck motor. I have been having too much fun with the engine that is in the truck, and neglecting building the engine that is supposed to be in there.

Thought of a great idea! I decided to turbo the 260ci ford engine that came in the datsun truck. I had an extra turbo laying around from an old setup that I ended up using. I plan to pull the engine out as soon as I get all of the Vr6 parts assembled to go into the truck. Pt.2 will be out shortly!

Instead of lifting the engine, you can unbolt the dog bone mount then rotate the engine by pulling on the pan.

Hey I’m in the middle of a timing chain job and I aligned the crank to tdc and then removed all the timing chains and components, then I realized the cams were 180 degrees off so I needed to spin the motor over again. So I put back the timing chains and tensioners, but didn’t put the bolt in the sprockets for the shaft so the sprocket fell off when I was spinning the motor, so then I unbolted the cams to spin the motor over safely, does position of the shaft matter? Basically what I’m getting at is can you safely spin the shaft as much as you want when everything is disconnected and then just line up the arrow on the sprocket when you put everything back?

  • @DevTechGarage

You’re r30 build explanation Doesn’t make sense order for it to be considered a R30 you have the Increase cylinders similar size which the perfect engine, for that would be the 2.9 vr6 You putting 2.8 Crank and pistons in a R32 block you’re still Making an R32 you Said it, yourself 3.2 an what is that the 3.2, da 3.2 is litres that Is created by cylinder size of 84 using 2.8 pistons oversize, piston rings to fit the cylinder Which you still have a 3.2 L reduce the pistons in the block does not reduce the litre size And therefore you still have a 3.2l Although, it will be a Frankenstein R32 And especially where you were saying that all, but most parts are interchangeable only way to truly get a VR6 3l Is Through a 2.8 or 2.9 being the best engine? To create what your speaking of even if you put the R32 head on a 3rd Gem 1998 2.8l vr6 you still get a 2.8l Which both 24 valve engines, 2.8 24v & R32 are da 3rd gen and 4th gen vr’s were both launched from the same platform, the same vehicle, which was the mk4 golf The first of da 24 valve head You still got a 2.8l VR6 Frankenstein Which you would get a better flow from the head r32 so to cut a long story short putting 2.8 components into an r32 block. You still got an R32 Or in Laymans terms You still have a 3.2 L third-generation, VR6 with a , that’s it Love the UK

i would take one of those 1/2 inch ratchets with the grooves cut into the handle and tap them into the surface of the rod and cap for taking up any cleaance. There is a procedure to fit the bearing tight and that includes some super metal mix to apply under the rod bearing. That can bring ti back to original without removing any more.

Great comments! I have to disagree with you a bit though, the 84’ and later wasserboxer just didn’t age well. Much of the issue was galvanic corrosion between the iron cylinders & the aluminum alloy heads. I’ve seen them blow out the the water jacket going up I-5 in Tacoma. The ‘79 -‘83 air cooled T2 motor can run a long time though.
