    I kind of disagree with your opinion that these are bad for beginners. I wouldn't put a complete beginner on one, but I think you can jump on a little board much earlier than most people think, and that there can be huge benefits to doing so. The key is to run freeride wheels instead of race wheels at first. I got on a little board running purple Kevos less than a year into my downhill progression, and I believe that it accelerated my progress tremendously. The stability and control inspired so much confidence. The precise handling really helped me figure out where to put my weight to maximize braking force. And because it's lightweight and the wheels are under my feet, it was much easier to learn to control slides on it. I felt like, once I learned how to deal with the extra grip, I could control the kickout much better, and keep a low slide angle, something that I struggled to do on my big board. Obviously this is my personal experience and different skaters will have different tastes, styles, and needs. I'm not saying that they're necessary for everyone, or that you have to drop a huge wad of cash on a race setup to get good. But for me, the little board meshed with my skating style perfectly and really accelerated my progress, even at an early stage of learning.

    So kinda a stupid question from an old skater. Looking to get back into skating, just want something like the Axel Serrat 39", but everything I see as far as wheels are 80a or similar. When I used to bomb hills and powerslide I'd ride 99a or harder. Am I going to be able to slide an 80a wheel??

    • @RatBürgerSk8
      @RatBürgerSk8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You'll be able to slide just fine on them, don't get too hung up on the durometer. Some of the most slippery wheels out there now are the 75a Powell Snakes. For your setup you'll probably enjoy 85a Powell G-Slides, they feel great on hybrid style boards like that.

    Good analysis ! You can also consider that the snappy feel is higher with the precision cup'd washers : when you replace them with flat ones, return to center gets softer and flowier, even with std barrels. I like also the following option : std barrel board side + tall barrel road side. The initiating of the turn is soft and the end of the lean gets firm.

    I cannot tell you how thankful I am that you mentioned at 19:00 the industrial grade velcro trick for the block. I've been searching everywhere for this bit of info. I have the torque block I want to install, but am trying to figure out the best placement for it, so the adjustable-ness of velcro is very appealing. Also, since I'm dialing my setup, I've always wondered how not being able to adjust the hardware on my trucks would be after butting the block on, since my torque block is going to cover at least two bolts and I want to be able to take off the trucks without removing the block. Genuinely and seriously, thank you.

I'm thinking il get 93a and 95a bushings to try out.. what do you think? Also iv always road venom bushings do they fit valks well or do I need to go to riptide krank bushings? Thanks bro

    I did not like these wheels at all. I bought them because they are supposed to thane, but mine barely did; it left very faint lines on a warmed up road on one of the hottest days of the year. In that same session, my friend was dumping with roller skate wheels. I've had two other homies get this wheel, for one of them it left tons of thane, and the other one didn't thane at all, so I feel like there must be some inconsistencies in the formula or something. I was stoked for a dumpy mids wheels and I feel like I wasted my money. :(

      Yo try some Sector 9 Nineballs/Topshelves in the 65mm or 70mm round lip shape. They paste fatty lines and are easy to skate at most speeds. Chance Gaul rode them down Angie's Curves in an older raw run and covered the camera lens in thane dust.

    This video told me NOTHING about the weight. And the few things you said don't make any sense. If the weight is in the middle it's doing NOTHING to pull you back to center. It would have to be on the other side or it wouldn't pull the other way, if anythign if it's tilted one way the center of gravity is on the side you're leaning to, not the other side. You're really bad at this.
