Initially yes but I think the flexibility it provides with topo outweighs that. In 2025 there is also a new excavation button. If you do a lot of topography stuff there is a plugin called environment by arch intelligence that is great for more customization.

@ i tried 2024 1. padding just work like a floor, its make no sense to modeling a floor by model in place 2. padding has slope on them 3. i can make a filter padding to show on plan: which is excavate and which is fill in (which in my case in 2024 only show the fill not the cut because revit doesn understand) 4. new cut fill schedule doenst work, it shows 0 cut and 0 fill it wwas very FRUSTRATING - i downgraded to 2023 , i consider it is a big bug- they should have both system instead of pushing evrything to newer thing, if they fix in 2025 why not a patch in 2024?

When you start drawing a wall it should automatically change to the modify tab. which is where you see those options.

For the plugin? The one we used in this is a bit out dated and there is a feature in the Environment for Revit Plugin for creating topo from 3D scans which is another paid plugin but very useful for the topography functions if you use it a lot.

Are you talking about the tabs where the views. I believe you need Revit 2019 and above to have the tabbed views.

We created it from the Brian Mackey Video. Essentially we created a a new generic annotation family. With that we set up the grids based on what Brian reviewed in his videos. To be honest ours are not perfect but we set it up based on our title block on arch d sheet size. I am working on expanding my teaching out side of academia to a new website called corbinteaches.com . If you are interested subscribe and let me know you want to learn more about the grids and I can do a video specifically on that.
