Just been told about your very clear & helpful video many thanks, been struggling this summer to get/hear 3rd gear change & never gave it a thought about checking burr on clutch claw! Very much appreciated my Savage friend! 👍🏻
Thank you so much for this extremely helpful video! I've followed your instructions and will report back how it goes. I have a 2 speed Savage X 4.6 (the older V1 but purchased new 3 weeks ago) and it never changes gear. I found mine, from the factory, had the spring inserted first followed by the ball bearing. Do you think this may have been causing problems? I won't be able to test for a week or two as I'm awaiting a new spur gear as mine stripped on account of loose engine mount bolts (silly error, should have checked this before running). Anyhow, thanks again and I'll keep you updated.

I tried this and I still can’t get second gear to work unfortunately. I’m currently doing trial and error for it and it’s a pain in the arse
