View the summary video here: th-cam.com/video/piDZg8gFYdA/w-d-xo.html I recently bought 4 giant RC Heli batteries. 2x RCLIPO and 2x SOCOKIN 6S Lipo 5200mAh 120C 22.2V I compared them to my older 2x HRB and 2x YOWOO Graphene I tested them in a controlled discharge experiment. The advertised weights, and dimensions were verified. I broke them in with this cycle: Fully balance charge at 0.5 C rate...
The simple pleasure of flying an RC helicopter
มุมมอง 328ปีที่แล้ว
As an enthusiast of RC helicopters, I just can't get enough of this adrenaline-pumping hobby. With one of my Goblin helis, I can execute awesome stunts and breathtaking maneuvers that will make your jaw drop. But instead, this video shows simple pleasures of the hobby. Let's focus on the simple inverted flight sounds of blade-air smacks. There's nothing quite like the feeling of the wind rushin...

TESTING USB POWER BANKS FROM MIADY - 10AHR AND 37WHR - LETS MEASURE TO VALIDATE!!!
Couple questions 1. Any problems running 860W through only 360W of resistor dissipation power? That seems pretty intense even with the high speed fans you are using 2. Would it make more sense to flip one set of fans around so the air that is pushed over the resistors is then pulled even faster out the other side?
Ericklein5097, Awesome question. You're right on point with your first point. I have seen these resistors get red hot with much more over aggression towards the power dissipation. But with these type, I think they are called "wire wound" but I could be wrong here. They have a higher power dissipation rating with a dedicated CFM fan (cubic feet per minute) rate. I'm no expert. But they aren't glowing with these fans. For your second point. I think that's interesting, and spot on as well. If it were ducted of sorts, so the inlet of one fan was forced to be only the outlet of the other fan, then it'd be better than what I did. But the inlet of the "secondary" fan set could be a lot of fresh air too. Unless I had a wind tunnel or something... like a cover over the resistor bank spanning from fan set to fan set. But from what I can feel with my hand and from what my garage sorta shows with all the wind generated... it looks like a lot off fan from one set fights the fan from the other set. So I'd have to concede that, even without the ducting, it'd have a good chance of working better as you suggested in #2. Great thoughts. Thanks for putting the time in. Appreciate it.
the sped up video made me sick to my stomach. The camera zipping around was like a bad movie!
Cool video, nice one! 👌
Thanks rchelicopter... appreciatchya

How long does It take to the yowoo charge?
Hi Jao! I discharged all Lipos for 7 minutes. I then compared the cell voltages before the discharge started to the voltages at the 7minute mark while under load. The yowoo Graphene performed very well! For charging, I usually charge at a 1.5C rate. It takes about a half hour starting from Storage and including all balancing at the end.
@@bryanthompson2539 do you think that i can charge up to 1.5c to speed up and charge in less time without damage the cells? I was thinking in charge cell by cell in parallalel connection instead of serie too, to lower the resistence and speed up the process of charge.
Hi Jao! I hope you're having fun in the hobby. What RC is your favorite? Air, water, road? I'd recommend you do your research with charging lipos over 1C rates. Some batteries can take it and some cant. Also, look up a few YT videos on parallel charging too for some advice. I think you'll learn a lot more there than I can share with you! Enjoy and have fun! That's what this is all about!
@@bryanthompson2539 alright! Thank you very much Bryan, you helped me a lot. I'm doing a project of a RC car that can be charged by solar panels. I was thinking on the battery when i saw de graphene yowoo battery, so i started to search about it and i found your vídeo. Anyways, thank you very much for your help!
Do you remember these boys, Bryan? Joey and Johnathan. Patty was the babysitter.
I think I do. And I worry that it's only because of seeing this video. Honestly I'm not sure I do. But I remember Patty. Why do you ask, I'm curious? You must be curious as well to ask.
Just got one LHS. Its sweet, probably the best Nano Micro out there. Tame or wild!
ah, perfect. Glad to hear ifly65 I think you'll like it. Absolutely the best nano out there for sure. I'm a big fan of brushed motors for this size, brushless is too much power for sub 100's I think. Give it a 3d flight and post a video!

Wow you've been flying for years! Nice skills
Some nice looking flying, just got one and the nx8.
Hi Glenn, awesome news I think you'll truly enjoy it. Did you get the LiHV 1s lipos. I've always had safe experiences with those. A little weird at first charging to 4.35 and not 4.2 but you learn to get over it, especially with small 250mAh lipos :). Hope you enjoy your NX8 too! I've had my trust old dx9 for going on 6 years now. Time flys.
@@bryanthompson2539 thank you
@@bryanthompson2539 can the nano s3 take lihv batteries safely? new to the hobby. what brand do you use?
Oops, sorry Daniel and Glenn. My Mistake! I was getting confused with my miniquads and whoops that I used to fly. No, for the Nano I did NOT use LIHV I only used LIPO. Sorry for that! These were what I used: PowerHobby 1S 3.7V 180Mah 45C Lipo Battery (4) : Blade Nano CP X

Very much appreciated Javid! That one was for my sister for Christmas! Thanks for the comment!

By any chance do you have the measurements for this kung fu?
hahaha kung fu, that's good. Thanks for the comment. I don't have the measurements on hand but can go take any measurement for ya. It's 2ft deep by 5ft long if that helps and the 5ft long is comprised of two sides each 13 and 3/4ths (sunken area is 32.5'') ... Let me know what you're thinking next!
Love the honesty and the countdown clock based on beers consumed. Nice build .
Hey much appreciated steampunkgothix!!!
Appreciate you sharing the build and your humour.
Hi thanks Eustace. If you're thinking of building one I'd be interested in seeing what you come up with, either a YT video or a photo or something. Appreciate the comment!
Hehe. The sneaky identical second heli. I like it. Nice flying. Might get a nano for myself. Had a beginner heli a few years back and spent time with a sim. Reckon maybe this would be a good next step into collective pitch. Don't need big repair bills like a bigger heli brings.
Hey Klein, hahaha thank you and thanks for noticing the sneaky heli at the end. That was one of my favorite parts. It's hard to fly those little heli's as I'm sure you know. But dang it's so easy to go get a little bind n fly and be up in the air that afternoon. I hear you on not wanting the big repair builds. I jumped the gun on a trex 500x before I was ready and paid the price. Learning to build correctly can be costly. The nano I could crash multiple times (especially if flown over grass) and not have a single thing go wrong. It was more durable than the blade 230s. However, I have lots of good things to say about the 230s (they are called V2 now). That would be the next step I’d recommend if you're already spending time on the sim and going to get use to a nano-sized heli. Hope your journey is smooth and off the ground. Cheers
Nice fly 👍
Hey Schaschlik, many thanks! Years of practice! Lots of off-camera crashes :)

cool vid bud :) Question for you tho, how do you know it comes with oversize bearing in the rear (2021)? cant find any info on that.
Hey thanks Dave, appreciate the support man. I actually "over prepared" and bought the RPM oversized bearings/hubs when I bought the x-maxx. I was planning to upgrade a bunch of stuff Kevin Talbot tells us too. But when I took it off I found out it was the same sized bearing and hub size much to my surprise. I ended up keeping everything anyway and already broke a rear hub so that worked out because I had a nice set of spares! I think Traxxas sort of "rolls in" certain changes to the production line and it becomes a matter of luck and stock where you buy it from in the end. Talk to you later buddy.
Bahahahahaha! Bryan, you're SO bad! :P

Hey many thanks!
What were the phrases you used? I can hear the major system was used. I am in the first recital part of the video, I guess you show what you used later on.
That's awesome Jaeden! Keep up the good work. Let me know when you get to 50, 75, 100! If the specific words I used aren't working for you, you can use the system to generate the words that have the most meaning for ya. I found grouping in sets of 5 numbers created enough words for me to remember. This was especially true for pi, and not always the case for e, but I tried. Have fun!
@@bryanthompson2539 I had in the past memorized 200 digits, but couldn't recollect them well. I had used loci with major system, but now I use (before I sent the original message) sentences memorized through brute force that I then convert using the major system, which lets me recite 100 digits relatively easily now. Thank you for the support! I was thinking of memorizing the logarithms of 1 through 10, or to begin memorizing the degree sin values, since most of these are irrational as well. Another thing that could be done to make this easier would be to implement a PAO system, where a 100 names, actions, and objects are associated to specific numbers, such as Hitler Genociding People, (which is a horrible thing and thought to have in your head, but it is easy to remember because of that), then attaching this number's parts to something else, with a separate value could have another individual do another's act and object, resulting in a singular image representing 6 digits. Are you going to try to memorize more digits? Maybe you could try to memorize the 46(47? 48?) presidents of America? Maybe even the names of all the countries on Earth! (perhaps starting with one continent, then learning them continent by continent).
Love the build and the finished result. Enough detail to follow and realistic about price and time.
Thanks Justin!!!
whew, can't watch. our tastes in music are too divergent.
I get it GZ. Cheers!
Fantastic skills, you make it look so easy. Can I ask how long have you been flying helis?
Hey much appreciated RC Pilots! Ill have to check out your channel. Been flyin for 5 years. Skipped planes and dabbled only a little with drones. Hard 3d has been my motivation. It’s an entrancing hobby as I’m sure you know!
Bryan Thompson thanks for that, ya I think I’m on the point of getting dragged in, no matter how many right offs and disasters, I’m still trying 🥴😀
Stock? Great flying. 👍
Hi CurazyHeart! Yes it is completely stock, right out of the box BNF with my DX9 and standard profiles except for the positive pitch curve. Crazy fun man.
Hi, how do you build the arms that go on A, B, C, and D?
Hi Jen, I honestly don't remember how I did it but I do remember I didn't follow the instructions correctly and had to improvise. I did a left turn when I needed a right turn or something and it made the rest of the build very hard. So, just carefully follow the instructions is my only advice. Good luck!
I like it keep going
Many thanks! May have to do the same for 5000mah 6S!
You have 7.4 v battery
Trash dayyyy
Thank you SIR!!!
Lol this is ridiculous but my main takeaway is that trash day can be fun boys and girls. What are you using to edit your videos?? Your effects are great!
Hahaha, thanks Sam. I appreciate the support buddy. Trash day is literally Christmas around these parts. I say merry Christmas eve to my kids every Tuesday and wake up to a merry Christmas every Wednesday morning. I hope to make many more of these. My video editor is the free/standard windows 10 photos application, just when you open it click the create video project. Thanks for noticing! But it's not as cool as your very own green screen like somebody else I know :)
A huge thanks to my buddy Eric for creating the intro AND outro. You are a talented man and a great friend. Thank you. Music by another talented individual: th-cam.com/video/wylads7501c/w-d-xo.html THANKS!
So impressive man! I wanna try out these memory techniques. Will you be my sensei??
Hahahaha, thanks Sam. Of course i'll be your sensei. The first 20 digits you can make into a song and i'm in the process of getting my oldest to memorize it too :). I'm working on a 100 digits of e video and i'll have a table that better explains how it's done. Also, i wouldn't recommend wasting your time on this, you're too good of a musician/engineer/person/dad/artist/composer/friend!
Wow man. Impressive!!! That is a beast!! Looks super sturdy!!
Thanks Jay, much appreciated!
