I always felt Robbie was a bit of a slippery character. Having said that, at some point a grown man has to take care of his own affairs. The other members (except Garth)thought that the party would never end. Is it Robbie’s fault that they didn’t see the big picture?
Excellent Christmas carol. Bravo!
Beautiful. ❤
Do you have tabs for this arrangement?
Really good. Hope you have a Merry Christmas. Cheers, and God Bless! 🙏✌️
Stunning. Found this Gordon Lightfoot song after my father passed away in September and it reduces me to tears every time. Your version is epic. ❤
what happened ?
Hi Dave! It's been a long time since you uploaded a video, I hope everything's alright? Would love to see new discussions about music and gear from you again some time soon! Take care and best wishes :)
It sounds like your winging it just surmising what happened from the most basic external facts. You say probably a lot. All bands break up, a few are stitched together but never the same. Those were some disfunctipnal boys with a crazy lifestyle. PROBABLY Robbie said enough is enough i want some peace and alone time. RIP Robbie
Hi that's a brilliant review, can you please tell me how the action is on the Guitar low ot high? And is the fretboard wide ? And would it be suited to an electric player like me as I'm not experienced enough enough for a wide fretboard, I know that yamaha has other models suited to electric guitar player's but they are not Transacoustic Many thanks for a wonderful review, Ian
The guitar itself plays very nicely. I had a Cordoba C9, which was supposedly a much better guitar, but the Yamaha definitely played and sounded better.
Damn youre feeling it brother good job!
Such a great hymn. Thanks for watching.
This was awesome. Cheers! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️
Thanks for sharing these uploads. It's an awesome tribute to Gordon Lightfoot. Cheers! ✌️
I;m w Levon -- nobody said this WAS the LAST the VERY LAST WATLZ-- did u see " ain't into my health"" -- songwrting -- make sure you get credit w publishing......I think the rest of them were so out of it and thought it was just a long break. Robbie: I just didn't want to go on tour again with a suitcase full of heroin, " Where were the r est of them when Robbie sloved over all those songs? -- passed out or screwing a groupie -- it was too much too soon.
at last waltx, richard was so out of it that they only got two good " close up shots.....
thanks -- nobody does -- apparently martin and robbie -- ALl my friends were heavy into hard drugs - but they slowly quit as they got older and didn't want it anymore. if they HADN"T done it, perhaps the movie would not have been so good --
Very nice and I see the ole Martin Woodstock is having a night out!
Definitely an eye-catcher, isn’t it, lol. It’s a bear for picking (Flatpicking or fingerstyle) but it’s actually a really nice guitar for strumming and singing. Cheers.
This was awesome. Canadian Railroad Trilogy was written for the CBC, for Canada's centennial, in 1967. In 1967, Canada turned 100 years old, on July 1. I like Gordon Lightfoot's songwriting, because you get the feeling you are right there in the moment, because the images are so strong. Cheers! ✌️
Yeah, I've loved Canadian Railroad Trilogy since I was a kid. I imagine it must be really well-loved in Canada. What a great song about history, a people, the land, and human endurance.
Fantastic! I saw Gordon Lightfoot live, front row center, 14 years ago. I met him and his band, after the show. Cheers! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️
Billy Joel is a great songwriter. One of my siblings saw him live with her boyfriend, who then became her husband. Is the song Honesty? I may bey incorrect on that. Cheers! ✌️
Just the Way You Are. You know, I always was more inclined towards Elton John back in the day but over the years I’ve come to realize how great he really is. Cheers
@davidleinweber Just The Way You Are. Got it. My brother in law said that in the 1980s, my sister wanted to see Billy Joel live, so he took her to the concert. My sister is a fan of Billy Joel. He is a great piano player, singer and songwriter. Cheers!
Was the music for a lot of those songs composed and fleshed out by the musucians when the Band was working together composing, and did Robbie come up with all tge lyrics? Or was it often collaborative and other members should have gotten some composing rights? That is where I think this contention comes from?
Beautiful passionate perfect playing, Bravo!! 👏👏👏👏
Sweet!
Beautiful
I like this hymn very much. This was a great rendition of it. Cheers! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️🙏
This was great. Cheers! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️🙏
Great playing 🎸❗
Really awesome. Cheers! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️🙏
Thanks Dwayne. Going to be uploading some classical guitar hymns for a few days. Cheers
Robbie Robertson was the only one that kept that band together. The other guys, minus Garth, were a complete mess because of dope and booze. Levon blamed Robbie for breaking up the band...
Guess it all depends on biography you want to believe! They all were all great musicians! Even though Robbie gave them all part of the song proceeds but each wanted to sell there part of the song catalog that he shared with them back to him!! Robbie tried to help them!!
Very good show bro 💪🎯
She was so pretty and had such beautiful eyes.
This guy is full of schitt
Great!!!
Thanks
Robbie didn't really pursue a movie career, after starring in Carny, he only was in one other movie, he said he didn't care for acting, he was use to initiating things, not being told what to do. Levon was the one that ended up in several movies, well known ones, and well received, such as "A coal miner's daugher", and "The Right Stuff", plus several others. Levon said in an interview he thought acting was pretty easy, he liked being told what to say, how to dress, and someone combing your hair.
Thats not what happened lmao😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂dude
Levon and ricjard and harth are the influence brother😂😂
Professional musician s are not the same as your local garage band LMAO..do you even understand what a pro musician is..
Your understanding is so far off !!!! Wow
Thet were professional musicians that was their job!!!! You dont quit your job 😂😂😂dude you need to research some more..smmfh
Your comparisons are way off
Robbie xouldnt even plsy guitar when levon helm was a hawk ..!! Robbie did not write it all he took credir for it
Richard Emanuel was a huge influence in song writing until robbie screwed him and rick and levon...they were all intoxicated but that is not the reason they quit putting out!!
Lets get one thing straight... Drugs did not cause the feud!!!! Robbie credit where it was not due..levon richard rick and harth quit collaborating with robbie because of this!! Albert grossman was pulling the strings in all this ..that is the feud !!! Albert snd ribbie pencil whipped the rest of the guys ..period !!!
Robbie put out many stellar solo albums. His Native American ones are some of my favorites.
Epic
Brought a tear to my eye. The good kind! This is beautiful
According to Todd Rundgen, Robbie wrote all the songs and pretty much ran the operation. The others had lots of personal problems and didn't work as hard as Robbie.
If it is in working order, please consider posting a short performance on the organ. I think it would be very interesting to hear an antique reed organ's sound. Recently I was able to listen to an antique harpsichord and its sound was amazing. I was very impressed. I'm hopeful that your reed organ would sound delightful.
With the who as well. Townsend was living in a nice house while Roger Daltrey was living in a car for a long time.
