Perfect songs to read the subjective forms of the clouds and to follow with a tender eye the grooves of the stems of the trees; appreciate the complex writing of the nested branches, taste the colors of the decomposition of light into water droplets in a garden, and strongly feel the wet soil of ancestral forest to perceive the traces of animals from deep past 🍍🌴

I love this live version but the tempo is a bit too fast, but impressive. They tended to play some pieces with a faster tempo as they got more successful and could afford a lot more cocaine. This is actually true according to Emerson's autobiography. They sometimes blasted through their set and have to add other songs to fill in the time remaining.

There's only one thing I don't like about the modern version of Tarkus. 0:50, the Gsus4 doesn't resolve to a Gmaj in the studio version, and instead sticks to the quartal harmony; this version resolves the Gsus4 into a Gmaj, which feels less Tarkus-y and more commercial. Maybe I'm just not open-minded enough to understand. However, the fact that my only gripe with this version is a single note says more about how fantastic this performance is. That synth with the high resonance in the first section of Mass was seriously jamming, and Battlefield has never sounded better. Aquatarkus leaves one speechless.

This band is the reflection of prodigious bygone era, it's a phantom asteroid that returns to set its sights on sound art. A prodigious wave charged with paradoxes from which escape the magic, enthusiasm and irrationality, hypnotic factors challenging vulnerable souls in search of the absolute. His musical architecture is a short tunnel that leads to light 🦨

(Dave here) 50 years later and STILL in the Top Ten live albums! NO over-dubs NO extra musicians NO editing! Exactly as it was recorded. I saw ELP in Houston, Tx. Their loudspeakers were spread apart, ON ALL FOUR SIDES of the audience. True surround sound?? Holy Shit!!! Karn Evil 9 ,completely performed, note for note. My ears rang for 2 days!! True geniuses, ELP. Why aren't they inductees to the rrhof

Saw them in 1975 at Roosevelt Stadium Jersey City, NJ. This was my first live concert General Admission. $12.00 per ticket$ Sitting in the center of the stadium you got the whole effect of true quadrophonic sound....and LOUD!!!!. I'm a 64 yr old drummer who saw the greatest talent of their time. What Carl Palmer was doing on his British Steel Custom drumset was phenomenal. Glad I was there to experience it . Rock on!!!

Well, Nostradamus was a "proggresive rock/metal" album according to Rob Halford, but that one sucks. They still had the 70s prog rock vibe untill Sin After Sin imo.

I wish Rob would quit wearing sparkling disco cloths. For you younger ones disco was a musical dance craze where the more sparkling your clothes and your club had the better. It swept the world but know no one even speak of it. It's considered a fad now but it was a world wide movement for like 5 yrs or more.

Live, Keith Emerson would have just sailed of the planet, and beat for note Carl Palmer would have followed him. It would be that smooth voice of Greg Lake that would reel them back. What an absolute astounding group of musicians. All beyond talented in what they brought to both the studio, and the stage. The world is a better place because of what they added to it.
