Amazing tune!

I don't have time to read all the comments now (I'd rather spend what little time I do have now reacting to more of your Ren vids), so sorry if, as I expect, a gazillion people have already told you this, but yes, not only is it a real life scenario enacted time after time all over the world from time's beginning to now, but it was a real life scenario that inspired Ren to write this, as a clarion call for us to put an end to the so far apparently endless cycle. It's based on a newspaper article he read, about a 14 year old murderer-- though not, as here, of his twin; that was Ren's addition. I believe his "such a shame" after the deaths is a cynical and ironic reflection on the fact that this is going on and on and on-- the poverty, the sexual and physical abuse, etc.-- and our reaction as a society is to read about it in the paper, say "Tsk, tsk, such a shame," and do...nothing...to change things. Another really satisfying reaction thanks to, among other things, your intense and respectful attention, your sensitivity, and other things. Sometimes reactors are so dazzled by Ren's technical amazingness in various areas, and/or so busy talking to each other when there is more than one reactor, that they totally miss the story, in this and other videos of his. There's never a danger of that with you, and I can't tell you how gratifying that is (and how frustrating it is to watch reactors laughing their way through this tragedy because they're so busy talking or appreciating camera shots that they haven't a clue what's happening with the characters and the plot, let alone to become sufficiently immersed to forget they are characters and plot, and see/feel them, as you did, as people living (and ending) their lives, and doing it in deeply tragic, heartbreaking ways. So thank you...and I'll be back to watch more of your Ren (and other) reactions very soon.

Great reaction. I can't wait to see your mind get even more blown as you explore his catalogue. You may think Ren couldn't blow your mind any more than he already has, but believe me, there's a whole lot more in store. I won't say more about this because I don't want to ruin all the surprises you encounter. Also-- I think most of those of us who want to make art, or who aspirire to do something meaningful/of value, have had that conversation in their head. I know I've had it my entire life, and I lost the battle, and caved to the nay-saying voice, unlike you, who pushed through it to make a life in the arts. Good on you for having, as Ren says, the "tenacious persistence." I hope you react to the Jenny and Screech trilogy (the entire one on one video, so you don't ruin the experience for yourself by watching them in the wrong sequence); The Big Push (red suspenders version, in which Ren is wearing them) of a mashup of "I Shot the Sheriff," "Road to Zion" and some other songs; "The Hunger,""For Joe," and "Chalk Outlines" with Chinchilla. There is a s*** ton more, all spectacular, but those are the ones I think are greatest for giving you an overview. Btw-- obnoxious, possibly seeming niggling, point: the opening strings melody is Spanish-influenced, I believe...not Mexican. I wouldn't usually bother with this, but you're not the first reactor to make this mistake; another reactor, e.g., referred to it as mariachi music (which I'm certain is inaccurate and way off)...and since you're a musician, I figured you'd want to know. Thanks for the authentic, transparent, attentive and heartfelt reaction. I subbed and hit the notification button...as I'm sure hordes of other RENegades/members of the RENaissance will. Be prepared for an onslaught of comments, requests, and love. P.S. D-uh. I forgot to check the date of this reaction, so by now you've already been through all this. But if you haven't yet listened to all the songs I mentioned, I'd like to renew my request, even though a lot of the other things I said are obsolete.

It sure packs a powerful punch. I've watched quite a few reaction vids punctuated with "I was NOT expecting that"; many like yourself are just stunned into silence at the end. The lyrics, cinematography, lighting, music, singing.... It's one helluva masterpiece imo that sends a powerful message.

1:30 i remember after i saw hi ren. I stoped the video after 1:30 min and took up the lyrics. Then i restarted the song. Deffenitely had some tears in my eyes as i followed the lyrics and performance. Then i took a 1 hour walk listening too ”hi ren” and simular music. It was such a raw and beautiful music experience. One that is very rare too come by. I have been a top listener of rens youtube chanel since. 👍

You know, I don't think it would matter who Babymetal did a collab with, it would be top shelf. And this is certainly no exception. They just have a way of saying come on this ride with us and your day will be better. I have listened to so much music in my life since the 60's but BM have been 'my band' since 2014. No other music has been able to do to my soul what they do. As far as I am concerned, everything they touch turns to gold. I know I'm a year behind reacting to your reaction so I'm sorry about that. It seems that you have been pushed down the foxhole by Su-Metal's Death Stare and it's a good place to be. I have been part of The One for 10 years and I refuse to climb out. They just keep doing it again and again. The songs, production, choreo are all next level and because they created their own genre, they really are different to everything else. What I find is that once people get their WTF moment out of the way, they can't stop smiling and enjoying them. Your reactions are thoughtful and informed, and I can't wait to watch more.
