I appreciate their intent with this show. I wouldn't say it's always a good idea to be competitive with other artists and their iterations because that can be a little mean spirited but in this case since the 80s Turtles strayed very far from the source material where they were turned to 80s cornball cheese, the attempt to adapt the comics and capture the true style of Turtles by making them cooler and edgier is very much encouraged. I never really connected that much with the 80s Turtles but as a little kid I saw these ones and thought they looked badass.
I didn't watch or grow up on this show since I watched 2012 but because this show was my first ever exposure to TMNT in general, I remember thinking while it sounded crazy and stupid, it did look badass. Pretty much my attitude with a lot of action shows since they were darker and were very extreme and edgy looking. And I appreciate how that is the driving mentality here in this behind the scenes since it essentially captures my imagination of that time, watching Teen Titans, Fantastic Four, Batman, Ben 10.
Even though I'm a 90s kid who grew up with the 80s turtles ever since I found the 2003 turtles when the PS2 game came out they been my favourite to this day , the second best I'd give to the 2007 CGI turtles
Honestly leo is one of my favourite voice actors and i started to watch a bunch of these series and seasons of Tmnt 2003 and tbh my favourite season & episode of all times is Tmnt Season4 Episode 4 of Dragon’s Brew and honestly my favourite part was when Leo decided to drop by Casey’s house for a visit and the part where Leo hitched a ride like under the truck…like honestly he’s a serious turtle in my opinion plus like when Casey and Leo got to Hun’s place those 2 wanted to beat the hell out of Hun and honestly for Leo here he kinda sounded a bit like a devil for some reason and the way he sounded a bit scary too but overall I gotta admit that Leo is one of my favourite serious, brave, & Fearless leader childhood turtle character ever (I also cannot believe im gonna say this but…) I love Leo sm like he’s the best and bravest turtle I’ve ever seen and he’s always their to protect New York and his Master splinter plus Leo is like a special character to me and i can never forget him……never in my life i will never forget him (Live, Life, Love) for my favourite and bravest turtle Leonardo💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙 lots of love and respect for him💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙 “ITS NINJA TIME”
I also prefer this version of the TMNT as this was also my childhood/the way I grew watching Ninja Turtles. I’m way older now and I still like the TMNT these days, these turtles happened to be also be more mature than the 80’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It would be cool to see these Ninja Turtles back again for some future movies.
I love the 2003 series. I appreciate that they made a more serious tv-series than what the 1987 cartoon was. Its the ONLY good thing that 4Kids has ever done, while they mostly ruin good anime like, Pokémon, One Piece & Yu-Gi-Oh & release those crappy dubs on DVD instead & without the original japanese version without the scene-removals, changes & censorships wich i hate. The only downgrade i think the 2003 has is that it lacks classic VAs like Rob Paulsen, Kevin Michael Richardson, Alan Oppenheimer, Maurice LaMarche etc. I do love Leos, Donnies, Mikeys, Raphs & Shredders VAs though, they nailed those roles. But i think some of the other characters needed Union VAs instead of anime-dub VAs. For instance i think the Utrom Chrell, Usagi Yojimbo & the Ancient One for instance needed to be voiced by Rob Paulsen, Hun, Leatherhead & Usagis Rhino companion voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson, Splinter being voiced by Alan Oppenheimer & Baxter Stockman being voiced by Maurice LaMarche. Whats worse is that the 1987 VAs didnt reprise their roles on Turtles Forever.
Everything they mentioned here, the more edgy tones, the darker animation, the stories spanning multiple episodes and even seasons, are what made the series as incredible as it was. Why they completely abandoned it all in the last 2 seasons baffles me. They had the perfect formula. Why did they have to change it? So many TV shows are guilty of this!
Oh yeah FUNimation was involved to since they’re the ones who made it like pretty cool and pretty amazing like both 4kids Entertainment and FUNimation Entertainment really did a great job making the 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles TV show and pretty much it does have uncut for real I mean they really did a great job making it better
2003 needs to come back as a movie trilogy or something. It should be made up of the first 4 seasons, then Fast Forward, and finally Back To the Sewers! This was one of my favorite shows as a kid!
I wish the rest of the cast of Sam Riegel (Donatello), Greg Abbey (Raphael), Wayne Grayson (Michelangelo), Veronica Taylor (April O'Neil), Marc Thompson (Casey Jones), Scottie Ray (Shredder), Greg Carey (Hun) and Scott Williams (Baxter Stockman) had also been included, and I also wish the background of New York City (1:02) had been used for the opening sequence of the 2009 animated television film "Turtles Forever" of when the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from the 2003 TV series meet their counterparts from the 1987 TV series and the 1984 comic book. And speaking of which, I wish the people who worked for 4Kids had reunited the original cast of Cam Clarke (Leonardo/Rocksteady), Barry Gordon (Donatello/Bebop), Rob Paulsen (Raphael), Townsend Coleman (Michelangelo), James Avery (Shredder), Pat Fraley (Krang), Peter Renaday (Hamato Yoshi/Splinter) and Renae Jacobs (April O'Neil) to voice as the main characters from the 1987 TV series again for Turtles Forever, that is if it wasn't due to financial restrictions and the people who worked for 4Kids weren't so stubborn of being a non-union company. Ever since I had first watched the 2003 TV series, I had often wondered why the 3D animation that was used for the battle shell vehicle (2:07) wasn't used more often for seasons 1 through 4. It reminds me of how the animators who worked for Dong Woo Animation had used 3D animation for the vehicles of the 2002 He-Man and the Masters of the Universe TV series, which is, in fact, the same company that also provided the animation for the 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles TV series. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dong_Woo_Animation
The first 5 seasons were amazing. Season 6 was a little too watered down for my taste. Season 7, I enjoyed the art amd storyline of the turtles trying to find Splinter across the entire cyberspace. When they cancelled the show, I was so angry, and wemt into a sort of mourning, since the show was a major part of my childhood, and also influenced my art and storytelling style. (Because of this show, I hope to become a comic book artist one day.)
Wow. I never knew the guy who played Splinter was so young. I thought he would be older. More like Makoto Iwamatsu, the voice for Uncle Iroh in Avatar the Last Airbender
As a girl you would expect me to be interested in all the girly stuff growing up, but this was my childhood. I actually believed they were real and would cry during the sad moments of the show as if they were like my family. The series really made you feel like you were part of them. I still love this series of tmnt. My favourite turtle will always be mikey the crackhead. Will never forget this cartoon ❤
I'm a girly girl and I love the TMNT too. My best friend also loved watching TMNT with her older brother back in the day. My favorite turtle is Leonardo, but when it comes to my personality I act a lot like Michelangelo.😁😊🐢🐢🐢🐢💙💜❤🧡
Had it been a TV-14 rated show instead of 7+ it would have been even more better, closest we got was the Donnie episode where he ends up in a dystopian future
Why weren't there any recognizable voice actors on this show? Like Tom Kenny, Kevin Michael Richardson, Mark Hamill, Tara Strong, Grey Delisle, or Rob Paulsen?

2003 version is the goat like if u agreed 👍
Don't get me wrong, I love the 1987 original, but the 2003 version is something else.
Nice
one of the best animated show ever made, except seasons 6 and 7 + the movie
The 1987and the 2003 was And still amazing
This was behind the scenes In 2002
The 2003 was great beasuce at Best on the comics books

I think this is the best adaptation of the teenage mutant Ning turtles out there
Utrom Shredder
The perfect casting of the turtles
This is my all favorite version of the TMNT none of the other version's can even come close to being as awesome as this show was
Even though I'm a 90s kid who grew up with the 80s turtles ever since I found the 2003 turtles when the PS2 game came out they been my favourite to this day , the second best I'd give to the 2007 CGI turtles
Forever and always... PEAK TMNT
4Kids really did their homework for the turtles!

I love this Show!
I prefer 2003 versions with season 1 - 5.
Unfortunately they ruined it when they didn't focus on certain things in it and they didn't finish it at all in season 5
Yeah even though I enjoyed season 6 and 7 I didn't like it being too light toned unlike the previous seasons being edgy and gritty
Sadly I didn’t grow up watching this like most of you did, I only started like two years ago, but damn I love this show. 2003 is my favorite version
Me too
Best version till today I love it sooooo much
0:20 music?

I'll be surprised if the voice Actors were the ones that performed the song for the 2003 TMNT Series.

The old actors from 1987 returned in the 2012 series.
Pokémon and Yugioh are also 4kids best dubs.
@@dwainsimmons3447 Hard to believe it, especially nowadays. Those dubs aged badly. No offence.
@@dennisjansson6239 no, they aged perfectly, and are better than the TCPI dub of Pokémon and the Singapore (Odex) dub of Yugioh.
@@dwainsimmons3447 Not for me, ESCPECIALLY when most countries, like mine, was deceived to dub after the english/american version.
TMNT 2003 is the best anime ever to appear on 4Kids TV. It was my childhood!
The best version of the series ever. And more importantly, all 4 turtles defeating Shredder together in the end. Not like in 2012 and 2018.
Whatever
Спасибо за детство
All TMNT are great but childhood nostalgia just hits different ya know?
I used to think this version of the turtles were. Used to love this show so I can't really dog on 4kids.
this was ninja turles was so awsome

It’s the same what happened with the original only the opposite it was getting too dark (or so they claim) so they had to lighten it
Тупость немного

And you're saying you only watch tmnt your whole childhood. Nothing else?
It's great to know that I'm not the only woman who enjoys the TMNT series😊
Wasn't there barely "girly" stuff on tv back then?
😍
This show really is pretty matured and has extreme things I wouldnt imagine a kids shows has amazing but so matured
