“Saltlines is beautiful. Exquisite musicianship and truly soulful music, led by the radiant Raynor Winn, who performs prose about the sea, nature and love alongside the wonderful Gigspanner Big Band. A must see. A gorgeous night that sends you out of the Theatre smiling. It's just what we need right now” Marianne Elliott OBE Director (War Horse). "But the highlight was undoubtedly Saltlines. Fabulous set at Folk East and very much looking forward to catching up with them at Halesworth in November.
Pre-ordered the new album! can't wait to hear it in full x x x
Sounds like another beautiful tune! Can't wait to hear the new album. Please come and play in the South East. I would love Debs at Folk in the Barn to book you! Love form Kaz and David x x x
Debs has booked the band several times over the years...they were at The Gulbenkian for FitB last November. But fear not! She has booked them for next year too!
@@deborahknight8681 Thank you so much. We try to go to most of Debs gigs to support her. We have seen Peter in his various guises many times, but those at Folk East have probably been our favourites. We love the Big Band especially x x x
Please, before you all get too ancient, get on a plane and come to Australia!!! France is a bit closer than uk.
Could of swore Deborah I saw a Cawsand gig somewhere coming up. Lanson on the 18th it is then.
Hello! Yes, the Trio lineup will be in Cawsand next year. There are no venues on the Rame Peninsula big enough for the Big Band lineup!😊
Only just discovered these musos, love Peter Knight, love the music.
Is that him singing? It's wonderful.
Yes, it is.
Looking forward to the Kingsand gig. 👍🏻
Superb. Thanks for sharing. More please!
Miss you a lot just checking in are you ok ❤
PLIS COULD YOU POST " THERE MUST BE MORE" OF PETER PLEASE
HI DEBORA, GRETTINS FROM ECUADOR, PLEASE COULD YOU UPLOAD THERE MUST BE MORE... I REALY LOVE THE SONG
Beautiful ! What’s the meaning/ history of this song?
Thanks Deborah. Another fine vid.
I saw them do this in Hepworth a few years back. So good live.
That was unexpected and all the more enjoyable for it.
I've been a "Spanner" since I was a nipper, my mum loved them and this version of one of my favourite songs was suggested....the Steeleye version reflected the easier 70s era, this hammers the new millennia firmly to the mast of State Control and State Violence...a lament to an era snatched and smashed to pieces for the benefit of Corporate Marxism. A beautiful song, a beautiful renditio, may Olde England be Merrie once more!
As of today, this is the most appropriate social commentary that I can think of.
Lovely!
great
This truly touched my heart
Absolutely beautiful
I was lucky enough to hear Peter sing this last night at Quay Arts on the Isle of Wight. The lyrics stopped me in my tracks - such beauty in words. A life changing song....
I've just heard Peter sing this tonight at Quay Arts, such a beautiful song. I wept, big fat tears rolling down my cheeks ❤
Love this song. Brings back sad memorise
I badly miss Peter Knight from the Steeleye lineup. I’m glad I found this video. I love this song. I love this version. Brilliant!
Gigspanner still plays throughout the UK.
Lovely!
Beautiful!
I suspect this song will have equal relevance in a year or two.. Unlike the other song Death and the Lady which has sadly relevance today.. uncanny.
Brings tears to my eyes. Beautiful. Cheers and thanks
I feel a Cornish vibe xx
Gigspanner genus. Xx
Amazing. Just close YOUR eyes. Xxx
I heard this performed live a few years ago...and have never forgotten the song. The words still silence my own thoughts. One of those rare moments where there is perfect stillness amidst the storm and one's whole being is lost in music.
His fiddling has a way of making everything better. Making life more bearable. Light and airy but with ferling.
Prachtig...Marvelous !!
Beautiful playing
As alway, amazing to hear such a brilliant musician. Ive only recently found TH-cam, fabulous music available, thank you for sharing :)
Thank you! Lovely to reconnect through this atmospheric performance...
Absolutely love it, great soothing music at these times. A great collaboration of musicians. I just cant wait until we can see you all live again, hopefully soon. In the meantime your videos keep us sane. Thank you.
Beautiful!
That was knock-out, thank you all of you, in these troubled times, for giving us such a treat.
Just perfect. These people never disappoint. Their music pulls you in and you forget everything else while you are with them. Wonderful, poignant song beautifully played.
This day, this day is mine It's mine to keep until tomorrow If my heart is full of joy or sorrow Whether I pay my way Or I beg, steal and borrow One thing I know is This day, this day is mine. This day, this day is mine It's mine to live without rules to bind me I can close every door so that no-one will find me Or I can open my heart and say, "Love, come and find me" But one thing I know is This day, this day is mine. As I live out my life there's some lessons I've learned If you jump in the fire you're bound to get burned I can say I was pushed in but I was to blame, I was drawn to the light and the dance of the flame I was easily led, both my heart and my head, And believed every word that those dream pushers said Because nobody told me the truth about lies - That they hide in the words but they live in the eyes. This life, this life is mine From a lullaby kiss and my first awaking It's a life I will miss when it's time for the taking Which is why every day must be mine for the making One thing I know is, one thing I know is This life, this life is mine.
how I am moved : lovely film, beautiful simple song. Thank you - may I have permission from Peter to add it to my personal repertoire?

This has to be the most beautiful song that I've ever heard.
