Is this your own arrangement? If not, who arranged it?
What a gorgeous sound one has come to expect from Schoenstein. The very first organ I played was a small Schoenstein instrument at Church of the Nativity in San Francisco. By coincidence, I dined with two Schoenstein grandchildren in Napa just one week ago!
Is this the same church where Casey Cantwell was at?
In addition to the above positive comment it's piece has been brutally attacked as a virtuoso of how fast can you play this piece to the detrimental effect of this piece. Listen to Widor's left hand which sets the rhythm of the piece. The right hand is a contrapuntal associate and the pedal asserts the melody. It's genius.
Listen to Widor's recording and video of him playing his composition. It's an eye opener as to speed and interptetstion.
There is a recording on TH-cam of Vidor himself (aged 88) playing his famous toccata from Symphony No 5 and he plays it a lot slower than you. th-cam.com/video/J8vz1D_L_OE/w-d-xo.html
I would never have guessed an excellent Baroque performance would come from the U.S. Midwest.
And I would never have guessed this site would have generated such a comment.
timeless...all I need to say....beautiful!
Divine music, beautiful performance!
Thank you; lovely!!! Beautiful painted pipes!!! 😃👏🏻❤️
Merci beaucoup pour cette interprétation, amis américains. From Chambord, france

Absolument pas, vous ne connaissez vraiment pas monsieur Bach pour écrire une telle ineptie😮😮😮
I must say, a very surprisingly pleasing choral sound coming from America. Vibrato-free 😬 Well done indeed!

So müssen Bach-Kantaten klingen. Herzliche Grüße aus Hamburg, Germany.
とても美しい演奏!
Very beautiful interpretation of this cantata in a beautiful cathedral. Interpretation fills me with joy.. I sang this cantata some a few years ago: still the same emotion. This piece moves me a lot. Thank you for the concert.
This is FANTASTIC! Beautiful music, impeccable counting!

Beautiful balance between organ and choir. <3

Dear Music at Saint John's Episcopal Church, Tulsa Hello, your video is lovely! Could I share this by reposting your channel on a new platform named Ganjing World? For sure that I will not change anything. If you are okay with that, please let me know. Thank you!"
Beautiful!
What is the organ seen in the back gallery of the church?
Hi
What happened to the Great 2-2/3? This is the 3rd harmonic of the series and was considered essential by the important builders over some 400 years. Who says Celestes should not have full basses. This has become a fad to save a few bucks for the builder at the exense of the musical sounds for the player. Damn, nice Cornopean. Full and powerful without taking your head off. There should be ONLY full length reeds. Another Europea fad - half length which emphasyses the second ha rmonic and is raspy. Nice Oboe. Trem is a little fast. My My, a 16' Wood Diapason. Shakes the dust off the rafters. Good Pedal stop indeed. Modern organ builders should remember that there was a reason why the older builders used 16 wood opens in the Pedal. Sure they are expensive so modern builders began to leave them out. Stupid move. They don't understand tonal architecture. You are lucky to have had L S build the organ. Interesting case
You sound quite knowledgeable on what makes a good organ. I just wish we could build good acoustics. Most chuches will spend a fortune on a an organ but keep carpet and dead acoustics. Imo it makes the organ worthless. Like putting diamonds on a plastic band.
@@Richard-vq7ud Agreed.
This one rocks
I grew up with a Leo Schoenstein installed Moller pipe organ in my parents' home in Atherton, CA. It was installed in 1941 and I am told it came from a mortuary somewhere nearby, perhaps in Los Altos, CA. Leo. S had gone off on his own separate from his brother's firm in San Francisco that was involved in most of the S. organs. Unfortunately the organ "loft" was actually a basement that flooded several years after it was installed, and I was not able to enjoy when I was learning various musical instruments (accordian, trombone and mellophone, followed by the French horn) when it was finally restored in about 1954-55. I was removed by the new owners sometime after 1962. My father played it only occasionally.
Beautiful playing, and I love hearing the Hindemith, one of my all-time favorites. Thank you, Adam and Joe!
I am astonished yet again that this size of a group, can not only accomplish this production, but bring out the very best sounds individually and as a group one could ever dream of. The outstanding St. John's Episcopal choir and select musicians playing as close to period instruments as possible, then conducted by the great Timothy Brown, of Cambridge add up to a purely joyous experience. My gratitude to all , especially Joseph Arndt, Choir director at Saint John's Episcopal Tulsa and our beloved Katherine Magrini who largely sponsored this spectacular performance.
