This channel focuses on fixing, repairing, restoring and upgrading components of your personal classic car providing “how to” advice for the average guy with limited knowledge, experience and budget.
Follow along and learn from my 35 years of personal experience I’ve acquired wrenching on my own project cars through the years. I’ve made lots of mistakes over those years and continue to experience new problems I’ve never seen before. See and learn how I overcome these challenges and find solutions without breaking the bank.
If you like 60's and 70's Mopars and / or you own a Mopar from that era this is the place for you. Keep in mind although the cars I work on are Mopars these actions and activities are applicable to all classic cars and what you learn here in most cases can be applied to any make and model.

I Received A FREE 1974 Dodge Charger From My Neighbor and then GAVE it away
I gave this 1974 Dodge Charger to fellow TH-camr Nightwrencher. I hope he does something cool with it. As for me, I have other cars to focus on. Before it goes I go over some of the differences between the 1973 / 1974 Dodge Charger and older Charger generations.

Great video Jonny, the 68 Charger looks good. Hope to see you at MATS in March if you go.
@@MoparJimmy Thanks Jimmy. Have a great time. I’m not able to go this year.
Very cool!

@@NightWrencher if he was good looking it must have been your Pop.
Stock car tribute!
@@BigfootsnMopars I think that would be cool.
👀
Lowrider Drag Car! (Seriously, that it could be dragged without falling apart, means it's at least not worse, than the usual projects, were Mopars become AMD:s.) I am sure Nightwrencher can do something with it.. It did not leave (at least not overly obviously), a trail of rust & bondo when dragged.. Dragging yr car body in sand/rubble for a while, excellent sand blasting. And you will not get the issue with the blasting warping up visible panels. Fury Road, as i understand the engines got sandblasted on the inside from the shooting. Not sure about the bodies..
@@AndreasAndersson-ve4jx Lol. This one is a solid Cali car. No rust except for a little surface rust on the roof. And no need for AMD panels on this one, IMO. Pretty solid.
👍👍👍
So that one is a 73, tell tail sign is the trunk doesn’t have the hump in it, 74 does for the gas tank, and 74 hoods were the only year with no vents on it, 😁👍🇨🇦
@@MAGLtd-hh3ct Ah, I thought there was a version with no vents. Thanks for the info MAG.
Too bad it's completely stripped would make a good solid base.
@@NathansMoparGarage That’s what I was thinking. If there was a rusted out one out there that had a bunch of good parts this body could save the day.

@@45BradB I hear ya Brad. I have yet to find any videos with details on any Mopars. Some day someone is going to need to know where a screw goes and they’ll find one of these videos. I hope anyway.
Appreciate your commentary and acknowledging any “oops” along the way (like we all do under our breath with a few choice words when no one is watching anyway 😂). Good job. I have A bodies by the way but am rebuilding my 67 Barracuda dash this year and just rebuilt the gauge cluster on my 74 Dart Sport last summer.
@@leerindal8980 Nice! I have one A body, a Duster. I did that dash too but it was before I had the YT channel. Good luck on your A bodies Lee.
Hey great content Eric. Was curious I haven't seen this option, I have a 71 superbee and a 72 with the rally package but they only have a 3" round dome light, is that After market? Or the rally package? Thanks Mike.
@@mikefleming953 It must just be an option. The car is not a Rallye car. It has the dome light too. I’ve seen a couple on eBay but they’ve all been 74 or 75 cause they also have the seatbelt indicator.

what more work to do on that Charger?
@@captaindew3106 Oh man Captain. So much more to do and more money it needs. I gotta get my son’s carb back together for his 55 Chevy to make space to work on the dash cluster next. Hey I have a 74 with a 360,you happen to have a spare transmission just oh I don't know, hanging around doing nothing that you want to get rid of to a fellow Mopar brother that bought his car from a dealership that didn't disclose all its flaws and because he got it from Texas and he's in Massachusetts ,never went to inspect the car and has now had it almost a year but because of the aforementioned "flaws" has only driven it less than 100 miles which sucks because he has worked at the same place for 34 years and decided he deserved a classic car and although he wanted a 69 couldn't afford it but that's ok because when he saw the 74 immmmmmediately fell in love with it but now is depressed over the whole situation to the point he talks about himself in the third person like now but luckily he is on medication that after reading all this you'd think they're not working but trust me, they do🙄lol ok,enough ranting I guess😂
@@josephsilva626 Damn. Sorry to hear that man. Uh, I have no spare transmissions. In fact I have a shortage at the moment.
@JonnyMopar I wish I could post a pic of my car so you could see it,looks great,LOOKS.....GREAT!! 🙄🤣
@ I wish YT would allow pictures in the comments too. But your description says it all Jose. Congratulations on your car and don’t ever sell it. It’ll be the biggest regret of your life unless it’s to buy another Mopar. lol.

I had to give up on mopars, they got to be over priced for me . But I did manage to get some good cars from the parts cars, from customers. Have fun
@@Tzor17 Thanks Tzor. And sorry to hear that man. I can’t argue with you. The prices have got insane in the last 30 years. But you know, if you keep your ears to the ground every now and then a deal you can afford will come your way.
'68 is my absolute favorite of the Chargers. $300 in 2005 was a fantastic deal. The '72 looks really good in blue.
@@sorta_stock Thanks Jeremy.
@@sorta_stock I like 68-79 the best. I can’t pick one over another. But I’m also a fan of 71 & 72’s.
Hi, my first language is Spanish and I'm trying to understand correctly, translating all you said, i have chevy pick up 1970, with a stock 5.7 tbi engine converted to a carburetor with edelbrock 600cfm, no one here that i know understands about timings, I'm learning my self to do it correctly, whats the timing on idle for my motor? And thank you for your video, seems you are the best to explain this things, thank you
@@JoseHernandez-kw6nn Hi Jose. Thanks for the kind words. I personally don’t know what your timing should be for that engine but you can experiment to find a timing that works good for your engine. A good place to start is between 7 and 9 degrees at idle. Drive your truck and see how it runs. If it runs good there just leave it there. So I don’t run out of space I’m going to continue on a separate comment. Make sure you read all of them.
@@JoseHernandez-kw6nn If the timing is too advanced when you try to start your engine, it will struggle to turn over and start. Also when driving under load, like climbing a hill or going fast you might hear a knock in the cylinders. That would be too advanced. If this is the case retard the timing a couple of degrees and see if it improves.
@@JoseHernandez-kw6nn If you don’t have enough timing, the engine will struggle to start. And when you drive it, it will feel lazy and have no power. If this is the case add a couple of degrees and see if it improves.
@@JoseHernandez-kw6nn There’s more, vacuum advance and total timing but it sounds like you’re just driving a stock truck and not racing. So go off what I said on the other comments and you’ll be fine. I definitely recommend you run vacuum advance for a driver, it will improve you gas mileage. And one last thing, I saw a video that shows me how to add sub titles in other languages. I’m gonna try it in Spanish. I’ll start with that video to see if it works.
@@JoseHernandez-kw6nn Looks like it doesn’t allow on old videos.
Can you see any way to retrofit the older B body so you can remove the dash without removing the windshield? It was suggested in a comment above.
@@chevybrat Well, I think anything can be customized like that. But it’s a lot of work, time and money if you’re paying someone to do it.
@@chevybrat Correction, read MoparNuts simple suggestion.
