It was very useful.
I doubt that. Why are v-tubers so absurdly popular? The top female streamer last year is an AI anime girl. And if you go to less moderated sites like 4chan even more people are really into ai, in the expected degenerate ways but still. And somehow even more disturbing AI impersonation chat bots are super popular too, for personalized parasozial relationships with celebrities. Things are pretty bad. And it will a lot worse.
Thanks for chiming in. I know what you’re saying but I guess I’m coming from a different perspective. My channel is for real coaches and creatives who use their lived experience (content) to make deep, resonant connections with their clients. Not at all motivated by virality (if it happens great but it’s not their motivation). From my view, if two videos on the exact same topic with the exact same title appeared in my feed, I’d choose the real person with a real story to share about x topic before id ever click some AI bot generated video. My audience and their clients would never appeal to that either which is who my content is directed towards. If the goal is to go viral and get lots of views fast without caring who it reaches or if they stick around to become loyal followers and engaged fans, then AI is perfect for those creators, but that’s not who I work with at all. I’m also seeing a lot of new creators kill it online by sharing about topics they love and they know about with low to no editing and just speaking into an iPhone. It’s very hopeful for small authentic creators and plenty of space for the people who care about making a genuine impact with their message. Just not racking up numbers and likes.
What aggressive marketing tactics do you hate most? What gentle approaches have worked for you?
This was so refreshing, thank you. It's exhausting trying to do "all of the things all of the time" and I love the idea of focusing on making content that connects instead of the obsession with showing up at every minute in everyone's face.
I'm so happy it was helpful and resonated with you. I agree, it's exhausting and not sustainable. I also love how you put it, "focus on making content that connects". I think it's the key to everything else. Thanks for your thoughts.

@@theheathertobin hey 👋🏻 Heather! Thanks for stopping by 😉 glad you agree too! 🤍🤍
Omg I’ve been inactive from my business for 1 year but not intentional (personal troubles) and now I’m like idk how to come back lol
@@doanyvon this sounds so familiar. I took an unintentional yearlong sabbatical in my business too. I had no idea how to jump back in. Then I decided bc my break was so long a reintroduction on IG would be helpful and a heartfelt note to my email subscribers. I think I even did a “where I’ve been” podcast episode or mentioned it in one. The easiest I found was just to be open and honest about the break. I bet your audience will be so welcoming 🤍
I recently made the switch from TH-cam to instagram last month because it was a better fit with having a baby and toddler that I care for full-time at home. I had previously been on instagram a year prior but it completely burned me out with all the “shoulds” and i thought that I would never return. Since coming back I’ve implemented all of these awesome strategies and have had incredible engagement that has consistently gotten better even with posting once a week. Creating content in the past on instagram was once a complete dread, but now it’s something I look forward to every week!
I love this and am so happy for you. I’m in a bit of an opposite place with content, I’m loving TH-cam and substack, I am leaning into long-form content and I’d say I’m on Instagram light mode! 😂 I am feeling pulled to repurpose content for IG again tho! So are you posting long form content on IG? Reels? Carousels? What is working best for you?
@@theslowcreative right now I’m primarily utilizing reels. I am excited to get into log-form content again and I think podcasting would be a much better fit for me.
@@downbythebanks2018yes! Podcasting is great. A few years back I started mine because I could do it after my kids went to bed. I’m sure you have a ton of reels and captions to expand into longer form posts, too.
@@theslowcreative yes! I have pages of ideas. Lol I listened to your podcast episode about podcasting and it was so incredibly encouraging and validating.

Oh thank you very much for showing me that I'm not losing my mind, and there are other people who lean to such solutions...
No, you are definitely not losing your mind! In fact there is a growing community of solopreneurs who follow this approach so they are out there! What do you find the most challenging about marketing? Are you already following a slower more quiet approach?

You're welcome! Did something resonate specifically, Bianca?
@ Yes. Authentic connections are important to me. Even in business and especially as a children’s author. A small part of me was worried about numbers and it was hard to silence that. I guess it’s human.
@@Kassandra555-2 Thank you for your response, Bianca. I agree, feeling angst when the numbers aren't growing is very common.
