I could be wrong on this one, but I feel like 147 should be notated as a ripple roll. At least for me as a performer, that would be easier to read.
You're right tbh but I just didn't want it to sound bad in my program, lol. However, the velocity of the ripple roll should be notated sometimes for context imo.

Just curious, is there a reason you didnt write it in 12/8? I feel like I'm missing something
To me, I think it is easier to read this as 4/4 on a marching standpoint because it is a bit more clearer where the down beat is and that indicates foot timing. However for the pit I do believe it is more readable in 12/8 👍🏼
Also, it's more consistent when the meter is quarter note based the whole movement
