Solo campout and campfire cookoff in my handmade truck cap camper setup on the lakefront of Harrison Lake in British Columbia, Canada.
Location
Accessed from Harrison Hot Springs, Harrison Lake is the largest lake in southwestern BC. The glacier-fed lake is about 60-kilometres long and 9km across at its widest point covering approximately 250 square kilometers. Home to a wide variety of wildlife, the lake offers great opportunities for outdoor recreation.

Meals
Levi's Campfire Chili
- Beef chunks
- Can of kidney beans
- Chopped onion
- Sliced jalapenos
- Can of tomato sauce
- Olive oil
- Salt and pepper
- Chili powder
- Onion powder
- Garlic powder
Fry up onion, jalapenos and beef chunks in olive oil. Add in tomato sauce, kidney beans and assorted spices. Simmer for an hour or two. Serve with grated cheddar cheese and sour cream.
Campfire Cinnamon Sticks
- Half package of yeast
- 1/2 cup of warm water
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1.25 cups of flour
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp of salt
- Softened butter
- Cinnamon and sugar mixture
Add yeast and sugar to warm water for 10 minutes or till yeast gets fizzy. Mix in flour, salt and olive oil. Let rise by the fire for an hour or so. Punch down the dough and roll into a string, then wrap around the end of a stick such that it wont fall off. Coat with butter, sugar, and cinnamon and toast on the fire.

Did this same type of truck camping in the '90s in a Dodge W150. No premade flies were available, so I just used an 8x12 camo poly tarp and a couple of 8' 2x2 for tent poles. Quick to setup and breakdown. Also like the Outdoorsman Ram. I've got the same and its a great package!
