Is it good for catching cats?
On scale of 1 to 10....10 best....I give you 2...........idiot😅
Tooooo much talk
Music too loud!!!!!
Total piece of crap both of them.
The $50 single trap has smaller wire in the back where you put your blocking boards
Thanks for this excellent informative video. Made my first time setting it very easy.
Door and mechanism is too flimsy for raccoons around here. They just bend the door and get out.
The trip plate doesn’t go down easily. What can I do to fix that?
Thank you. So very helpful
Field wire help out instead of string .
These traps SUCK!! The plate doesn't drop easily and you almost have to have a heavy weight for the plate to drop and the door to close. My bait is stolen every time and I regret buying this POS trap.
can you adjust the trigger? Make it a hair trigger? I want a trap big enough for possums and also catch squirrels. thanks
just make sure you set the air pressure on the trap door at 45psi,
@@bill-nj6fc 45. got it, thank you!
This worked great
I didn't know to release the safety. 🤞🙏🏼☮️
Great video. Thank you for going over directions on how to set.i bought same trap at TS for gopher rats. I hope it works.
One other bit of info: when traps are set by people working with the animal shelter, they lay an old towel across the middle of it to give a small sense of security to the trapped animal, so it hopefully won't damage itself or the trap.
Any tip on how to release after catch. My old trap had a piece of metal I could turn to hold the spring mechanism in place so the door flopped open. It would stay closed and I could tie a string to the door and safely open it from a distance, or in the truck if it was say a skunk. I guess I’ll have to add something to do that on my traps?
I typically just wear thick gloves so I don’t get scratched or bitten and stay completely behind the trap. Every raccoon I’ve ever released has been way more interest in getting away than seeking revenge on me. :)
How do you release without getting bit ? no video's on that
That's my question, too!
Kill the freaking loud ass music
Wrong music that should be quieter. Sound level on the speaker following the music intro is barely audible. Balancing sound levels to bring them within a narrow range of each other will benefit the audience . I came here to get the cage I just bought for 60 bucks to work . Just a little better prep guys will bring viewers back.
Too much talking.
The reason I gave it a thumbs down is because when he explains it and he points to the parts in the trap he’s talking about but the camera is so far away that you cannot see what he’s pointing to. After watching this video we were totally still lost on how to work this trap.
Its simple. Lift the trap door, and set the latch rod mechanism that is attached to the trip plate. Easy.
That’s very smart to attach the can you the trap activator.
GREAT video!!! Thank you so much!
Is it possible to mount a vise or a C Clamp to this table ?
You probably could but that may take away from the portability of the bench. There are predrilled holes for a Miter saw that you “may” be able to use.
Thanks. I obviously bought one that was a bit messed up and your video helped me to bend parts back to how it needed to be.
With mine, the plate doesn't move the hook at all; you can pound on the plate and it won't spring the trap. Junk.
Yeah I just bought one and it’s garbage.
Yup. I have to bang on the plate pretty hard to get mine to drop the door. This trap sucks!!
I bought 3 of them and only one of them did I have to adjust. It's simple to adjust the linkage with pliers so that it is how you desire.
Sthu and show how to use it. Geez.
Yep I need to board and weigh down mine. Last night braided mine and it was clean of food. Thanks for the Insight on how to do this I got a bunch of them I have prairie dogs 2
we have a chipmunk INSIDE our house ... I bought the traps ... set out bait 2 times.... it ate all the food and was NOT trapped ... It is too light to trip the metal .... so idk what to do now
check your air pressure on the trap door , should be set at 45psi
How do you set the sensitivity on these traps? I've watched chipmunks walk right over the plate, eat the food and walk right back out. I've moved the bar to the very edge of the hook and it still doesn't make a difference. It takes a lot of pressure to get the plate to push down and I know the chipmunks do not weigh enough to do that. Any recommendations?
same here
I took the spring out from the bottom of the trip plate. I am currently after a squirrel who is so small he can get out of the cage after it trips. Taking that spring out and then placing the hook right on the edge of that locking device has worked good as he has closed the trap on himself 2x in the last 2 days.
Also, I put a screw through a small piece of wood - 1/4 thick and then with the screw up in to the bottom of the cage. Then I threaded a ear of corn on to the screw with the wood being on the outside of the cage. My theory was that he would have to or likely be standing on the plate and try to pull or tear into the corn and that action would trip the plate.... seems to work.
Just put something on the plate that is light enough that it won't trip, but heavy enough so when the small animal walks across, it will trip.
I just bought a large cat/raccoon trap on a scratch & dent deal and I can't get the trip plate set. I don't think the spring is in the right spot. Do you have a photo of the spring underneath and how it should be aligned or adjusted? Thanks!
FYI - you need to fold up that part inside to lock the table, it's the handle that you fold up to ensure the table will not collapse!, Then when done you push on it to lay flat like it's is your video. The side x braces will appear to be locked but they are not until that piece is vertical.
Thank u!!
Yay! LOVED the idea of the "sideboards" to force the little bandits to coming through the door to feed! My trap is now all set up, and I'm excited to catch my masked thief SOON!
That’s great! Let me know how it goes!!
Good job! I just got mine delivered today and I can't wait to get home and try it out!☺
