This channel was created to let you all enjoy some of the adventures that we were able to capture on film. I was a carpenter for years. I have recently began to persue my dream to become a fulltime fishing/hunting guide. - (about the channel name) Carrying on a family name. My great grandfather was a musky fishing guide in northern Wisconsin back in the day. Thistle Dew was the name of 1 of my grandparents business names. They had a huge influence on my life during my youth.
Clint & Mason's Musky Weekend Day 2
After the evening storms the night before, we start day 2 with a bit of a cold front. The water temps did not drop, but the air was cool with periods of light rain that stuck around all morning. Watch as the musky attitudes go from curious to feeding as the morning progresses. This is an expanded repeat of a previous video, "Vilas Co. Wisconsin Mega." from July. Clint's big fish was to be the 2nd largest fish of 2024! What a special weekend for this father/son duo!

2024 Northern Wisconsin Musky Opener

Day 1 of opening weekend for the northern half of Wisconsin. I jump in Jamie's boat with brothers, Logan and Mason. We chose to fish some ultra clear water in search of a giant great lakes spotted musky. Muskies were all around us all day. The tough part was getting them to eat. Follow along as we flip, pitch and rip our way through these less than ideal conditions.

A short adventure to central Wisconsin at the end of the 2023 season to fish the rivers with some buddies. We had 2 brief but extreme bite windows throuhgout the day to go 2 for 4. This was to be my last adventure for 2023, but we made it count with my 1st ever musky on a sucker that I personally caught.

It took a couple outings last fall, and a few lost fish to break in the new boat right. My cousin, Nick, and I get rid of the bad mojo in the first couple days. Musky Mayhem Tackle's Mini Grenade is responsible for the 1st musky in the new boat from September 2023. Just before leaving for the PMTT Championship on the Chippewa Flowage.
Day 7 - Abandoned Narrows

The final day. Ryan goes on a hot streak throughout the day, and I look for 1 more big fish. We finally catch a fish that we had been after all week and my suspicions are correct about why this fish maybe didn't eat earlier. These fish for the most part completely transitioned to rubber and were choking baits.

And there ya go! It ain't all you Clayton. Muskies do that kinda stuff. Twice I've had 'em get crazy going into the net and get hooked up outside. First time I had to grab the net from the guy (my fish mid-40s), just flipped it around to the other side and finished the net job. Second time it happened to me as net boy. My instant reaction saved that fish. Of course, I still get the story told as "my botched net job". Gotta be ready at all times for an escape tactic. Nice catch!

This is so awesome on so many levels. Little man was given the chance to go back and get out of the rain. He promptly says no way, puts on some rain gear and proceeds to land a beast. Kudos to mom and dad for supporting him like that. Being in the rain sucks, but I've caught so many more fish in the rain, especially bigger ones. He will be a musky fisherman for life. What a gift! Congratulations to all, especially little man. Never stop keep fishing in the rain as long as its safe to do so! This is what it's all about.

@sugsfishing it didn't phase him 1 bit. I really love the spin move before every cast. Getting his steps in, checking his surroundings and getting a step into the cast for more distance haha.

have to say - the reason I love your videos is the things i learn - i love that you let us here the sounds - even hearing blades in the air is just magical. I learn about how to solo net by slowing down your videos to see how you net successfully - I even learn where to best stow away a bump board. Do you use your Mega on landscape mode always or also forward? Need to tinker with mine a bit but looks like you can see them pretty nicely under landscape mode
I use landscape mode when I'm fishing in less than 10' of water. Otherwise, I use forward mode. I feel that I can tell what fish are what much better in landscape mode than forward.

Like the vid, don’t mean to be that guy, but when measuring fish, I would highly advise to support the belly to minimize stress to their branchiostegal rays (gillplate). Subscribed.
Thanks for watching and subscribing. The way we were carrying the fish from net to bump board definitely needs to be changed. I will be making a mental note of it to pay closer attention.
Awesome content! Might just be my limited viewing perspective but id recommend supporting those large fish when transitioning net to bump board. Keep up the great work and using the technology to get those bites was wild!
Appreciate the comments and the love! You are right about supporting the fish from net to bump board. Thankfully none of them flopped while we did that. I think that's when the injuries to the fish can occur. With a new boat and set up, we no longer have to go so far with the fish from net to bump board. They will be close to each other.
Talk about pre frontal fish bite window!! - I would have yeeted out of there as soon as I heard about the 65mph winds.
We stayed a little too long haha.
