NIETZSCHE AND WITTGENSTEIN ON LANGUAGE
In this video Dr.Nash Jocic explores the contrasting views of Friedrich Nietzsche and Ludwig Wittgenstein on the nature and value of language.
Nietzsche regarded language as a tool moulded by power, culture and human needs rather than a neutral medium for uncovering truth. He argued that words inherently distort reality due to their tendency to simplify, generalise and impose subjective interpretations shaped by human perspective.
In his early work, Wittgenstein concentrated on the logical structure of language, suggesting that language reflects reality through propositional statements. Later, he shifted his perspective, viewing language as a practical activity embedded in specific social contexts and introducing the concept of language games. For Wittgenstein, the meaning of language arises from its use in human activities rather than from abstract logical correspondence.

One of the best presentations of Schopenhauer I’ve seen. He doesn’t falls in technicalities, explains all the concepts in their simplest essence. I stoped watching the video, and couldn’t stop, even tough I know Schopenhauer’s philosophy almost entirely.
