She figured it out from the murder-suicide. Why did they die? SPOILER ALERT The husband found out the truth behind taiki's real father, became hysterical, and killed her before taking himself out. The loophole wasn't just seeing a 4th identity. It was simply motive. He never actually confronted his father, so he can't 100% believe it was him. He's only looking at Dna. When i first saw the episode where he thought he died, i knew immediately there was a piece missing. He gave up too easily. The fact that she could read that far in the first place is what makes her such a good profiler. But the thing about episode 11 is that had she just told him her thoughts on it, they could have maintained a work relationship even after what happens later. But she probably didn't anticipate that he would break it off once things got real. This is why i particularly hate characters that keep everything to themselves. Aqua could've had a real relationship with his new sister, had he talked to her about each others reincarnation. He could've had real support from his friends, much more than any counselor could give, had he talked to them about his trauma at any point in the story leading up to his belief that his father died- about his mothers death and what he was actually acting for. Why does he have to suffer alone when Ruby was there, too? Aqua claimed she got over it sooner than he did. Though it was never clear she did, since you could tell by her expression when she talked about him getting akane pregnant as a teen that she still suffered when Ai gets brought up. His inability to let people in is inevitably his downfall as a character. I actually hate that such a cheery anime can be so dark despite there being subtle romance involved as well.

Thinking this further: If we suppose that Airi Himekawas husband found out about Airi's pregnancy by Scum Dad and then killed her and himself, then history repeated itself very closely with Ai. Both times, Scum impregnated an idol, then that idol was murdered out of jealously by a manipulated man, then that man died by his own hand, leaving behind the idol's and Scum's lost children that would later become stars. Is this a coincidence, or perhaps a strategy?

Lmao I'm so dumb I thought Aqua and Taika had different dads but they were monozygotic twins because then they would share a lot of the same DNA… (Also it’s speculated that some families have more twins because of genetics, you know Aqua and Ruby) But it didn’t sit right with me because I don’t know if that almost 100% result would work out 😂 Your explanation is so obvious, I feel so dumb lmao

There is no way for a half blood sibling to not share either a father or mother. So Taika doesn't know who his biological dad is. Probably what lead to the double suicide (finding out) but the guy at the end of s02e11 was both their fathers

At the end of the day, for someone to be half sibling by blood, they have to share either the same mother or father. No matter how many branches you make. Obviously The loophole is that the dude Taika doesn't know who his real father is. It's the dude that was at the cemetery. Common sense
