+Duncan Clark Hi There - as a rider myself and a driver, I cannot understand why if you are driving any sort of vehicle, let alone a massive lorry, you would not slow down if a rider asks you. Horses are a prey animal and they can all be skittish even the most bombproof of ponies. The rider behaved perfectly by anticipating it might scare her horse and so asking politely for the driver to react to this. All the driver had to do was slow down. I have had the most wonderful drivers who have spotted my horse being scared so they have stopped and turned their engines off and then been kind enough to thank me for warning them my horse may be scared. It is all about give and take, respect from riders and drivers and not putting riders, their horses or any motorists in danger. This lorry driver sadly put the horse, rider and possibly other motorists or pedestrians at risk of serious injury.

This is a debate that will go on and on, you have your opinion and I have mine, I doubt we will ever agree

Had the lorry driver had a dash cam fitted,no doubt he could have posted a clip titled "skittish horse worries lorry driver"......it all depends which side of the fence your sitting
